my friend bought one recently for $500, man that stock engine may as well not exist
I wonder if that 3.8 minivan to Daytona swap would work in a rampage... [editline]24th July 2015[/editline] Shit though, I'd scoop one up for 500 in half a heartbeat
I got stuck in my Chevy.... Barried the Axel even our 1ton flatbed welding truck couldn't yank me out. CHEVY suburban came and pulled me out like nothing happened.
So I successfully removed my old radiator, I figured I would start looking for the starter and holy shit GM why?! It's gonna be such a pain in the ass
Don't 3000GTs end up blowing headgaskets or something every five feet? I remember Bradley talking about their engines being lemons that require pretty frequent work.
From what I've heard, (I had a few people that had them) They either blow up in 5 miles, or last 500k miles. It's like a 70/30% chance of it. But he said he was going to mod it all anyways and figured he would fix the headgasket problem, I just dunno how much he's 'modifying'
my buddy had a 3000GT that he put 220k on before he got his camaro. the thing developed a really bad rod knock so he threw a couple of extra pounds of boost into it for one last quarter mile run. it ended up spilling it's guts onto the track just as 12.32 came up on the board. then he parted out the good bits and sold the roller. the head gasket was totally fine
Hey so we're doing a PES 2015 tournament and one of the teams is Automotive Addicts, so im kind of coming to ask if you guys would like a specific anthem for your team?
Oh boy, roughly planning out what I want to do to my MR2 makes my wallet hurt a lot. I think the grand grand total is somewhere above $2,000, $1000 at least to get (some of) the non-paint stuff squared away.
S13/240 are pretty good for that. Civic is over done. But still an option, as long as it's done right. Rx-7 if you can find a good one A supra (80's one) Never got one myself, but I Heard a few good things about 90's Honda Crx Si's Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX's An older Mr2 Mitsubishi 3000GT Celica's Toyota Corolla's I dunno much else, that's off the top of my head that are cost efficient. I can't think of much else at the moment, sure slayer has the perfect option for you, lol.
How do I know whether an RX-7 is good or not?
Ahhh there's an original E36 M3 for sale that's in parts, has a donor M52 M3 3L engine but the chassis only has 120k miles. It's the European M3 engine, not the american 328 that's beep upped to 3000cc. I really can't have another E36, don't have the space...but it's so cheaaaapppp, he's asking 3k, normaly they go for 10k here
if you're anything like me, surely you've got something you can sell to make room
Only other E36's :v: And I obviously cannot sell those for reasons
Blazer is going into the shop. I'm not fucking around with this vehicle anymore. Its the inside CV boot thats hosed. Already got the new axle, none of the bolts are rusted, sooo.... sub $1000 shop repair? Basically paying for labor here.

Havent brought it in yet. Waiting for my buddy so I dont have to walk 10 miles back
How do I know whether an RX-7 is good or not?
Guess what I meant by that is check the owner out, if it's been riced out, rusted out garbage, I wouldn't really mess with it. I LOVE Rx-7's, but I've seen at least two around here that just fell into the wrong hands of people that played too much of NFS, and it hurts my heart too see that car go to waste like that. But hey, whatever fits peoples fancy I guess! Speaking of RX-7's I dislike it when people put LS motors into them, I rather put a 3 rotary engine in it, but them again, thats my own opinion!
Speaking of RX-7's I dislike it when people put LS motors into them, I rather put a 3 rotary engine in it, but them again, thats my own opinion!
It's a lot easier to get your hands on a LS engine than a 3-rotor engine that was only placed in one road car that was never sold in the US.
How do I know whether an RX-7 is good or not?
Interesting engine, but it doesn't make huge power unless you have a huge turbo. It drinks oil(seriously, its part of its combustion process) and has the gas mileage of a V8. They're neat though [editline]24th July 2015[/editline] Oh I missread your post
Today I had the pleasure of accidentally flooring the brake pedal on an automatic thinking it was the clutch. :v: luckily it was in a parking lot.
It's a lot easier to get your hands on a LS engine than a 3-rotor engine that was only placed in one road car that was never sold in the US.
Oh I'm sure it is a whole lot easier, but if I ever did get a Rx-7. I would try and get a 3-rotor, depending on just how much it cost to do. Sure it's a lot, but it be super unique and fun.
Nah you gotta be super unique and get the four-rotor.
Not a huge aftermarket for 80s supras, but they're cool as fuck.
would absolutely love a supra, I have a friend who used to own one and he loved it to bits thanks for the ideas though guys its still early days and it's just ideas of what to save for as my next car, so that's why it was a lousy question. probably gonna scrap my current car as its my first before i move onto a jap but it's nice to set a goal.
Oh, you don't truly understand YET. Imagine driving that 35 miles to work every day on open country highways with no cops. It's a completely different driving experience than anything else, especially when it's a standard. My 2006 with the 4.6L makes about the same HP as the newer ones, with less weight. Also, that car most likely had a 3.15 rear end in it. Trust me on this, they are even more ridiculous with a 3.73 rear end. 1st only takes less than a second, and second gear doesn't last much longer. If you wound out 3rd, you were doing anywhere from 80 to 110 mph.
Now imagine that power range and setup with a 4.10 rear end and a 4.11 first gear. That's how some of the SXT chargers (mine being one) is set up. It's about the same power as the early 2000s mustangs with a different torque curve due to two less cylinders, which is quite a lot more fun than I honestly thought the car would have.
So i got my radiator and starter in but my buick still wont fucking start. I'm pissed
wont start as in wont fire, or wont start as in wont turn over
wont start as in wont fire, or wont start as in wont turn over
It now turns over but wont start Edit, it started but the belt flew off and the radiator is still leaking. Fml
So I took some advice, and shoved kickstarter to the side, it isn't the right medium. I set up a domain, and put up what I make there, and makes it easy to see what's going on. I have the plans and patterns for three designs, so if anyone has any thoughts on a fourth or fifth, I can't see any reason why you shouldn't get a cut of the first sale of that rack if I use it. I can get my entire hub assembly tore apart in like 10 minutes now... If I could find a way to break, but not damage, my balljoints I'd do this myself. Worst case is I have to redo my balljoints.. again.. on the passenger side. Then I got to thinking more. If I have all this shit tore apart, I should replace my hub+bearing because I already know its worn and will need replacing. OReilly: $240, RockAuto: $98 (for the pair; bearing included) [editline]24th July 2015[/editline] Ive made my decision. I'm going to do this without the shop. Worse case I'm out another $40 or something in balljoints. Fuck it.
