It's two years old so some of you might've seen it before. Which means that Tmaxx does not have to rate late, but rather just watch it.
What I really want is a Land Rover Defender.
Bit more expensive, those :v:
You need to fufill the star in the grill of the Samari. Get a Gelandewagen.

The G-Wagen is the only car on my want list that I can't obtain until I'm at least 25 years old as the cheapest one is 25k with 150k miles. I swear these cars only depreciate by mile and not by year because some of the newer ones for sale have gone like 6k miles and are only a grand cheaper than sticker.
Turns out you can unlock the driver side door without it actually triggering the central locking system on my car. But it wont start before you lock and unlock the door again. I mean it makes perfect sense that the car wont start like that, but I sat there stressed out looking like an idiot for quite some time :v:
When I go WOT, I can hear the screw and antenna cap I dropped vibrating in my a/c duct behind the gauge cluster.
It's gonna be a pain in my ass getting to them to take them out.
The only thing I miss about school was having free access to alldata. I'll probably need it to take my dash out without breaking anything. I might as well wire in an AUX input to my head unit while I have the dash out.
Well.. it's been one hell of a day. I went to see the NSX and got there at about noon. It looked even better than in photos, and he let me drive it and the gearbox and clutch felt great (the pedal, not me. Well, me too, actually).
I ended up paying $1k more than I wanted to spend for it, but shape it was in justified it, IMO. The fact that the timing belt and water pump was done at the same time as an engine 'rebuild' last fall means that it's basically a new engine from the block up, seal-wise.
This;
Car spent time at Acura of Brookfield to fix a screw that came off of the butterfly valve in the intake plenum (I think I got that right). Long story short, the screw marred up the cylinder wall, so that was re-milled. A new piston/rod was installed, a valve was bent so that was replaced. Since the engine was completely taken apart, all of the gaskets/seals were replaced. While this isn't a "rebuild" per se, there was considerable work done. The results are night and day. The car pulls much stronger than it ever has in the 10 years I've owned it. The new owner can take comfort in knowing this motor is strong and is good to go for some time to come, at a considerable cost to me. Any questions, please contact John Vasos at Acura of Brookfield. I can't say enough about the level of effort he and the techs at AoB put into this thing to get it right. John is the man. Unreal.
A new clutch was also done in Aug 2012, too. So that's good. The most expensive wear items are up to speed and shouldn't need attention for quite some time, knock on wood. It will also probably help that I'm not someone who drives it 'hard'. Some spirited acceleration to get onto the freeway and cornering is about as 'wild' as it gets. Don't want any tire smoke, that's dollar bills floating away, lol.
So, after that I drove it home, no plates of course. Figured I was going to get pulled over, but I didn't (saw two state troopers, I don't know how they didn't nail me. Would've been annoying)
Once in town it was straight to my insurance co to get pictures on file and a copy of the purchase receipt on file for appraisal purposes in case the worst should ever happen. I got the great news that the original quote of $75/month for full coverage to insure it could be cut IN HALF by insuring it as an antique/collector car policy. So that's phenomenal. Under $40/month for insuring a MR sports car :downs:
He took pics of the condition and insisted on taking one of me and emailing it to me, lol

It was a swirl for the rest of the night, but I managed to snap these quick shitty pics of the stable outside. I had to pull my baby (the Buick) out of the garage to make room for the NSX. It's currently at a friend's place in their car-port until I figure out what I want to do with it (I really would rather a friend buy it, lol)

And the fuzziest potato picture of them all, here it is in the garage, which I now lock :v:

I still can't believe it! It's a car I didn't think I'd get, as the price climbed year by year. But I did. The only issue, it's all stock except for exhaust, shifter, and seat covers. The paint is nice, everything is too nice to modify, lol. I'm gonna just enjoy driving a rare fun car for a while, and I think if I absolutely can't stand not bastardizing the car I'll move on to something new. But I just bought the damn thing so no reason to plan years ahead, hehe.
I'm gonna go shake in the corner or something, now.
I count a good day as the weather being warm, me not breaking anything, and one of my projects gaining at least a little ground. That there would be the 2nd or 3rd best day of my life.
Clutch2 wins the 2015 AA Award! More at 11.
Goddamn it. Today was a nice day weather wise, but shitty car wise. First I watched my neighbour change his wheels and wash his car, then I went to change the anti roll bar bushings and link on my car. started jacking my car up on the passenger side, the jack was almost maxed out by the time I could get the jack stand under, the piece of wood I used broke halfway up. When I had the jack completely up, I couldn't even get the stand under the frame, so I tried to set it next to it... Bad idea. When I started dropping the car, the floor started giving in, luckily stopped it before it got too bad. After I got the car down on its wheels again, I saw that one of the smaller wheels on the jack had dug in to the asphalt, bending it and starting to break the weld. And now the car sits much higher on the passenger side.
Guess I'll just hand it over to my mechanic next week and pay him for the "one hour" to change it instead.
Cleaning my spare transmission today, just a matter of getting my axles machined so that I can throw an LSD in there. Getting rid of the 2nd gear grind and having that LSD is going to be magical, and the car will finally be able to do some serious auto crossing and drag racing. There's a few track days in my future as well, so here's to getting everything done in the next 2 months.
I feel like a bastard for never posting in here anymore, and for that I'm sorry.
Consider it your mistake for buying a car from 1975 and newer. It could possibly be out to get you. Me personally, I know I'll never have to put down the Huntress. She'd never turn into a robot and kill me.
Trucky would never do anything to hurt me, he loves me. Make assumptions about your own relationship, boy.
I found my car's cousin in Sweden :v:

Also here's some shit I did at school:
[t]http://puu.sh/hu86C.jpg[/t][t]http://puu.sh/hu87Q.jpg[/t][t]http://puu.sh/hu88F.jpg[/t]
I don't have a before-pic because I simply forgot, but I pulled out the lower edge (and fixed dents above it) with a glide hammer that you weld the tip onto bare metal which is why the huge earth cable is hooked up to it. It's not my car, nor do I know who owns it but it's one of the first real jobs I've actually gotten at school except my own cars :v:
My friend is looking to replace his shitty Honda with a classic car and we've found this 73 Valiant on Craigslist for $1300. Slant 6 with an automatic, he says it runs and drives.

Serj, any opinion? Hoping you have some advice since it's similar to your Darts.
Serj is actually on an airplane right now and is going to buy it

It's amazing how expensive these little things can get. The newest ones have an MSRP of like 130k.
As much as I'd like the German car, I think I can deal with all that extra pocket change and a fake German car.

Try vacuuming them out? Maybe make a smaller flexible extension that you can shove down the vent by ducktaping it onto the end of the normal hose or something. All of my vents just pop out of the dash, then I can get to the ducts. Even if it's a little more complicated to get into the vent that sounds like an easier way than removing the duct.
Well, I rebuilt my little holley carb for the dune buggy, but I tried 2 motorcycle shops and oreiley, nodody has jets. Is there some other place that might have jets? I was surprised oreiley didn't have them, but hey, nobody uses carbs anymore, right?

I'll try the shop vac and hopefully find a strong enough magnet to get the screw, or I might have to use the old chewing gum on a bendy-straw trick.

He doesn't have to. He already called me saying GO PICK IT UP.
brb getting no sleep tonite. Too bad I'm going to miss more of clutch2 at 11pm.

why...do you need jets?
Use the ones that came with it. Clean them with carb cleaner or soak em overnight in.... berryman... stuff...
Well, I didn't really figure he was looking for an older C series car if he was looking at a 04+ Acura TL. There's nothing wrong with C series cars at all other than the headgaskets and EGR nightmares that can happen. I'd recommend an Acura Legend over the Accord V6 though personally, it's just far more car if you can find a great one for similar money. The Accord V6 cars are also pretty uncommon and parts are probably more difficult to find, I'd hate to see what it takes to source all the front end panels which are different.
It's true there are a few parts that are hard to get, but mostly just expensive. Only Honda dealers and a few obscure online stores even have the EGR tube, and from Honda it's about 206 bux and when I heard the price I nearly had an aneurism.
Fenders and the hood can be got from Rockauto but are fucking hella expensive so I'll just deal with my minor dents and shitty "fixed it myself" marks. O' Reillys does have a bunch of parts for the engine and transmission which is good but most parts have to be ordered like the IACV.
As long as proper coolant is used in the engine head gaskets are no problem, and the thermostat for the fans wont come on till 215F, which in my eyes is really bad so I'm just gonna keep my fan "on in run with toggle" setup right where it is. Keeps it at a nice 186f and no higher ever.
Sadly the Legend did tend to get more attention from Honda being it got the 3.2L C engine in 95 using the 95 Accord as the test bed, which also may have seen a manual version in the works at one point being there are holes "punch ready" for a clutch pedal.

Priced fair. Offer $1000 gone maybe? Interior should clean up easily and a new vinyl top will make the car look new, along with a good detail job.
The slant 6 will run forever, as will the trans, you wont have much power (for now) but it'll be a fun car.
If you part it out you could likely make close to $1000 off it.
i'd 440 swap it for a monster sleeper

It's so expensive because it's bought pretty much exclusively by doctors, attorneys and the like who are willing to shell out the extra dosh for what is essentially a dolled up military jeep with some leather and more power. Made by a German company, so slap an extra $5k minimum onto the pricetag compared to its competitors, of course.
Strangely, I almost never see men driving it; almost always women. It is a mystery.
Get a Hummer H1, it's more manly and American.

I know most of you guys aren't mechanics, but holy shit I don't understand how so many people blow holes in their tires hitting potholes.
I basically drove over a curb at 50mph because they were paving a road and I didn't realize how much of height difference the old road was at, on stiff ass suspension, old used low profile-ish tires I got for free at my job and replica wheels. nothing broke besides my butthole. I think I got air which is cool I guess
potholes fucking suck
Well my Pontiac may be sold tomorrow put it up on craigslist some guy who was a real fan and nostalgic over them gave me a call and is coming to take a look at it. I just cant do sheet metal work I can build a motor no problem but sheet metal not so much.
On another note http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/4978372749.html this seems promising if the body is intact.
Our roads aren't shit here I guess. The worst I've ever seen are steel plates on the road, which usually make a lip about an inch tall.

Because you live in NJ, the state where I made the mistake of taking the wrong turn on an elevated section of the turnpike, had to drive like a mile on level ground and those streets may have well been gravel for their poor condition.
