Gonna be a big week for the MR2.
Gonna look into the bad oil leak, bleed the coolant, paint the valve covers and change the gasket, and hopefully get my tail light fixed.
Can't wait!
Edit:
Here's a better video of the idle problem:

It seems that people on my street love their miatas and their mr2's. So far there are 2 NA mx5s 1 NB, 2 SW20s and an AW11.
There's also a del-sol but we don't talk about that.

Also, there's a really gross riced out corolla with autozone parts all over. :v:
Okay so the reason the V8's are so much better than the V6 is because they make more torque at the very bottom of the rev range. Torque is sort of, well, the way I like to put it is how ferociously the engine can apply its power. Installing larger diameter tires on your car has the effect of gearing up your drivetrain. The engine has to pull harder to produce the same amount of motion. Since you have a V6, you're going to notice that significantly more than any of the V8s. So in order to counteract the more your engine has to work, you should install performance upgrades that go for torque more than power.
So like air intakes, exhaust, and engine chips?

I'm pretty sure by shorter rear end he means a shorter gear ratio in the rear differential to make up for the larger wheels.

*ahem*
Please re-explain these things to me as if I'm someone that builds things out of wood and digs holes in the dirt and grows plants and only knows the basics of how an engine works
Because that's exactly what I am.
If that's the case then forget larger wheels for right now. I'm not gonna have the budget to replace the gears to lower the differential.
Anyone have suggestions on the other upgrades I asked about?

I can see how it would sound like that, but in this case it means a shorter gear ratio, meaning more low end power and less top speed. Sort of the same effect as smaller wheels.
Craigslist usually has really bad problems with "testing waters" faggots and people who are interested in nothing but stringing along a seller for a long time, wasting their time and then low balling the shit out of them and then getting angry with them because they won't take for something that is worth of scrap even.
"Kids"(15-20 or anyone younger than me at all lol) who grew up entirely with things like craigslist and facebook already existing usually have absolutely no patience being a seller and expect to have money thrown at them with no effort. Buyers of the same age usually have the previous problems really bad as well. He's probably dealing with plenty of other people who are offering him like 2000-2500 even though he listed it for 4000. There's also like a huge hate for "flakes" when I don't think anyone even understands that a flake is someone who bails on a deal that was planned. It's like a catch all word for someone who is interested in your item for sale but ends up not interested.
When I sold my mom's van last year, I got a bunch of flakes "wanting" to buy it, all of them immigrants. They'd call and say stuff like "I'll take it for $3000 and pick it up tomorrow" (we put it up for $2000, and reckoned it was worth about $1300), only to call the next day and say "nah, I'd rather give you $1700". I never got mad at any of them though, even if I maybe should've. If I'd been really mad, I could've pressed charges to force them to buy it for the price they said. Eventually I sold it to a company that shipped it off to Poland, painted over its faults and sold it for 10x the price.

The problem is, I wasn't wasting his time. I was waiting for a day to two days at a time for more photos that should've been in the ad in the first place so I could make a proper decision. :/ He was wasting his own time.
Went to the muffler shop today. Got the cat flange taken back an inch and rotated, rear hangers tweaked to hang correctly and a new tip welded on. Exhaust sounds quiet as hell currently, it'll probably burn out some over the next thousand miles. Compliments the intake noise really well and has a nice deep tone to it "similar" to the way that turbo D series motors don't sound like the fart can rice box Civic you always hear and expect.
The new tip fits partially inside the old tip for any reference and doesn't look like it was made with an angle grinder. Welds all looked awesome and it cost me $140 with the tip. Overall I got it for $230 and had to still put $140 in it, compared to a way more quality $550+ I feel like the bang for my buck is pretty high still could have definitely kept the old tip but I really disliked how it wasn't tapered to a larger size at all. It really didn't fit that bad either, most ebay specials hang down like shit and it wasn't really bad.

I've never really had issues selling stuff other than complete overall lack of interest. Usually the stuff I sell goes pretty quick and someone snaps it up the next day for a little less than I was asking. If something doesn't sell right quick, I usually don't get it sold.
[editline]7th May 2015[/editline]
Hopefully the guy who's interested in the exhaust comes and takes it away tomorrow, I want to see it gone. Previous owner paid $850 for this pile of shit at the "most reputable" muffler shop in town. I guess unless you paid $2000 for an exhaust you get worse than stock garbage, dude should have just paid a mechanic to buy some Bosal aftermarket replacement parts or something.

It's literally like 3 times as quiet in the car while driving and the engine even feels a bit smoother and less raspy. The vibrations from the front end of the car are literally cut in half and I don't feel it harmonically transfer through the floor while driving anymore.
tl;dr i put a ebay exhaust on my car and made it quieter lol

Does it have a mechanical idle valve? pre-96 hondas and pre-02 automatics have what you call a FITV or a Fast Idle Thermo-Valve. It's a mechanical idle air control valve that further raises the idle when cold so that it starts well below 0f basically. It's pretty much a piece of shit and should be filled with JB Weld or blocked off.
Guys I need recommendations for upgrade parts for my truck. (2006 Ford F150 Regular Cab)
Can anyone recommend a good brand or specific product for the following?
-Grille Guard (Would prefer black, but not adverse to stainless/chrome. Want something that covers the entire front of the truck, not just the radiator grille.
-Trailer Hitch (Class III w/ 2" receiver. Was looking at Reese Towpower, are they good?)
-Cab Lights / Clearance Lights (Set of 5-7, powered LED, amber preferred, full kit if possible. Saw a
set from iJDMTOY that I liked the looks of, are they any good?)
-Intake/Exhaust (Figure an aftermarket air intake and exhaust would help performance and possibly fuel economy. Also I would be lying if I said I wouldn't love a throatier rumble)
-Windshield Visor
-Bed Rails that'll work with a toolbox
I had to back off the idea of switching to power windows/locks. The dealership near me wanted too much ($1500) to do it. I'm wondering if I could go to a pick and pull and get some doors to a ford f150 that already had it and switch out the internals. Would that work?
I'm also interested in putting larger tires on it but am unsure how I need to approach that. Right now it uses 18" wheels. Do I need to lift the truck to add anything larger? How big can I go WITHOUT lifting? (I may be interested in lifting in the future but not right now, it's probably outside my budget)

I feel like I'm forgetting something really important that I need to upgrade. What the hell could it be...

Alright. Here I go.
1) Yes and No. The ones that wrap up around the headlights will only cause MORE damage to your vehicle in a collision / animal strike. The bar that protects the headlight will crash into the fender and fuck the fender up. Get a bullbar. YOU ONLY NEED TO PROTECT YOUR RADIATOR
2) Any class III hitch that is a BOLT ON will do your purpose.
3) fuk off m8 you aint a 1ton.
4) Exhaust can be home made depending on state. Remove factory cat. Weld in aftermarket hi flow, remove resonator and muffler weld in 6" glass pack or similar. DONE.
Intake. A drop in K&N. DONE.
5) What are you? A fuken knob? Every one knows windshield visors only go on only pre 90's not any new shit!
6) Simple. Buy a bedrail kit that bolts up. Cut the rail to length you desire. TADAAA
(Given the bedrail "cap" just fitts in the rail. and is not a solid one peice.)
(Their are alot of TEXAS GAMEWARDEN trucks with just 4 peices of 2" square tubing /--|--\ and some flat plates bolted to the top of the bed and the tubing welded on)

Thank you for the hitch and grilleguard recommendations. I'll have to look into finding a good mechanic that can do exhaust systems.
Sorry but I really don't care if cab lights on a not-1 ton truck make you sick. It's not about you.
I'd love to make my own bedrail but I just don't have the equipment to do it. I don't have a welder or angle grinder, and it'll be a while before I get one.
