Was backing out of the driveway this morning when there was a metallic squeal from the transmission, followed by the reverse gear becoming excessively noisy and shifting into anything becoming really rough. Oh no you don't. You're going right back to the transmission shop under warranty if you want to pull that shit five days before a 1400km trip.
I don't want a MK2 or MK3,it has to be a MK4, and I'm getting this particular one very cheap if I decide to buy it.
Mk2 get [editline]9th May 2015[/editline] If it looks that nice with 300k plus miles its probably been rebuilt.
He said it got a rebuilt 4ac put in at 200k and it currently has 140k. Cool, but I think I'll pass. :v:
140k? Barely broken in :v:
Suddenly, you understand why Ricers love their shitbox fartcans.
Na. Diesels sound manly because they are manly. A fartcan exhaust is inherently dishonest. Only a shallow person believes that actually makes the car manly.
On the topic ofthe MKIV Supra... not brainer man, come on. A cheap MKIV that needs some love and is bought for 'half price' is a gem, a diamond in the rough. You'd be nuts not to get it.. if I'd found an NSX for $15-$20k that 'needed a little work' but wasn't wrecked it'd be on a trailer here right now. A car you fix up is a car you truly learn and love. You get to write your own story and make it exactly what you want.
Two steps forward, 3 steps back with this boat... but we are still not giving up on it. Runs, tilts and trims and the oil alarm stopped, but now it doesnt spit water. Then suddenly we discovered a fuel line leak. It spit water for the first 20 minutes then just stopped so we're thinking thermostats. Fuel line is going to a bitch since we got to remove (again) the carb assembly to replace a 3 inch hose. Once we get all that fixed up and shit still doesnt run right then its the water pump getting replaced.
Good news! Lots of work done on the MR2 today - I've fixed the blinker issue, and I replaced the headlight bulbs and now I have high beams and my right side front and rear blinkers work! I finally got around to checking why my dome light doesn't work either...it doesn't even have a bulb (!) so I'll have to pick one up today. I also found out why my wipers don't move but my motor does: the linkage is broken. I sat the "ring" of the bar that the wipers are attached to onto the ball "joint" that's attached to the wiper motor, and it worked for a second before it popped off, so I'm going to have to find out a way to either get a part or jerry-rig it to stop it from coming off again. My seats and floor mats are looking nicer and nicer after I have shampooed them, but I think I have to use more because there's still some (light) stains. That Turtle Wax ICE foam stuff works pretty well. I still have to get the oil leak, rough cold start, and high idle issues fixed. I noticed my radiator fans weren't going though, but it says they come on automatically when needed so I guess I'll keep a wary eye on that.
Why do diesels sound so... Diesely? And why can't they rev as high as a gas engine? I'm at a loss and google no help.
Because compression ignition. Theres no spark plugs to control when the combustion process happens, so at higher revs it may preignite. That tappetty sound you hear on many diesels is the injection pump, some cars/trucks are equipped with electronic injection pumps but most have a mechanical one. Google is also your friend.

I might be anal but the god damn waterpumps are RUBBER. ITS CHEAP INSURANCE.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/lMBRqZs.jpg?1[/t] This Ford V8 hubcap was found in a ditch by a friend and I bought it off him for 10 bucks because it's cool.
this thing would be fun with a welded diff [t]http://i.imgur.com/aDP80ma.png[/t]
this thing would be fun with a welded diff [t]http://i.imgur.com/aDP80ma.png[/t]
Looks like an early 90s accord that climbs walls. I don't see what I'm looking at really.
climbing a wall that has a crosswalk on it. Stiveno you want to explain something here?
Before you guys say anything about that crosswalk, there was nobody around for miles, and I know the area very well lol. Its a bike trail that you can literally see people coming from miles away. And I got those magic tires, they grip up walls while doing burnouts.

Paint the whole car invisible so you can sneak up on people and scare them with the horn!
Get OEM as in OEM alloys? The x all day
Oem caps I mean, like the ones on the rear. Can't afford alloys :( And if I'm changing wheels obviously I'm gonna go the "muh BBS" path.
Just going to leave this here. Most of you know my real name anyway, so whatevs. Still waiting on a paycheck from a client for parts... ugh. The second slant I found is still in limbo. The owner is trying to figure out if it was for a car restoration. He has a lot of cars and restores them back to their original state, so if they had a slant when it was new, he puts it back in. Like before, he has A LOT of cars, so I have to wait and see if he'll sell. It's on the same property where I work so I'd just drive it over to my shop with a forklift and put it on a stand and get to it. But still waiting...
You need to get them to help you find a bunch of cool parts for your Dart. Radiators, hoses, an oil cooler, ect. They have all the fans, relays and aftermarket cooling shit too so that mechanic fan magic stuff can go in the trash. Although "Mishimoto Cooling–Coming Soon!" I'm guessing that's what that means.
FL/FR RL/RR Be my judge FPAA, to spend 5 bucks on black paint and roll on the steelies. or for taking off the stupid chinese hubcaps and get OEMs For reference this is what the car looks like: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32814946/IMG_20150510_112301.jpg[/t]
If you don't have all the proper OEM hubcaps, rip them off and roll on freshly painted gloss black steelies. Otherwise find some Integra wheels or something else, there's a bunch of light weight quality OEM wheels for Hondas and Enkei made like literally all of them.

Surprisingly they sell one for a 68 barracuda which fits. They also increased my discount already so ill be pulling quite a few things. I got about 20 different things they sell that I want on the car already. Iwill also get one of their low profile oil coolers in time. Right now im ordering what I nees to finish tech for the track.
Are you keeping the stock parts stored somewhere? I'd feel guilty tossing out vintage factory parts to replace with modern production racing stuff.
Hey what were you guys saying about increasing the performance and fuel economy of my truck? Y'all said add a cold air intake and take out the catalytic converter to make it a straight pipe right?
car with mismatched tires everywhere
How about you make all of your tires be the same tire. Your car is a worse offender than half of all of the wrecking yard mismatched tired cars on the east coast.
Anything from 64(?) to 76 whether its dart/cuda/valiant/duster/demon or any other variant of those so long as its A body will bolt in to your dart as far as driveline goes. The sube may be getting sold tomorrow and I may go and buy this should he still have it http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/calgary/1969-dodge-dart-gt/1068662191?mobile=false&siteLocale=en_CA Now before you rail me for giving up on the dart, this is a REALLY good deal, and with only ever being back for 1 week at a time because of work, with every day of that week booked hour to hour I have VERY little time for the dart. I would love a summer driver, and i'd still do some of the plans I have for my dart to this one and in the end I can just paint it red. Take all the good shit from my dart and then sell the rest of the car for 3-5k and should I get this 69 for $15000 thats $10000 for a done dart.
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/5011977685.html The price is on the high side but this actually doesn't seem too bad.. [editline]9th May 2015[/editline] Oh wait, the ad implies it has 300k miles. Nevermind, I'm dumb. Still doesn't look half bad.
Just threw up my dinner looking at this ad Damnit Kyre, you're breaking my merges :C
Are you keeping the stock parts stored somewhere? I'd feel guilty tossing out vintage factory parts to replace with modern production racing stuff.
I don't think his radiator is factory vintage parts, even if it is I have no idea why anyone would want it unless it was for a all original car and it was in literal brand new shape. I'm positive that he could get all new quality parts and clamps for his turbo setup, to catch cans, hoses, oil coolers, intercoolers and heat wrap. Mishimoto makes parts like all of those and not a whole lot more. None of these come stock on any car and if they do you're replacing it with custom parts. I'm not personally a fan of their thermostats and fan switches, they try to market all of their parts as better than OEM and what not when those two in particular can cause some havoc with a stock ECU and in general not run very well as intended unless you specifically need those parts in a very modified application. [editline]10th May 2015[/editline]
drive tenderly don't
I put a larger than stock cat into my Civic. I don't think anyone has ever done that. :v:
