Kei trucks are so adorable and I want one so bad.

LOOK AT IT! It's so small they can't even properly fit "FedEx" on the cube!
Oi
So I have a 1986 Honda xr250r dual sport. I own half of it, but its under my dads name. He wants to give me full ownership providing I sell it and use the money plus some of my own to get an upgrade. I'm perfectly content with the 250 for dirt use, and if I wanted something big or fast I'd ride my cx500. I did do some looking and I think I could sell it for 1500 with some patience. Its in really good shape compared to a lot of them ive looked at. I did look through craigslist and found a few options
.http://siouxfalls.craigslist.org/mcy/5003058300.html
With this I'd have to find out if I could liiscense it in SD, then sell mine, drive down there, try to haggle him down to 3k, and be down 1500.
http://siouxfalls.craigslist.org/mcy/4999574140.html
With this I'd have to again find out if I could liscence it, then I could probably buy it and a headlight, taillight, blinkers and shit, and either break even or have a little left over.
http://siouxfalls.craigslist.org/mcy/5001308927.html
Or this, pretty much do the same as the last one only be down 1k or so
Maybe I'll just buy the other half of the 250 from him. I really like the xr650 though.

i'd roll that so easy
No, the right lane is the lane you should be in if there is faster traffic around you. If someone doesn't know how to merge on to the right lane of the highway because there is traffic in it, that's not really a problem if they realized that all the highway entries are giant circles. Can't merge? Don't stop goddamnit, just take the exit and come back and try again.
Does no one understand how a fucking merge works? If there isn't a gap for you, then come back, don't start a fucking pileup.
Stick to the rightmost lane, unless you want to move faster than the traffic in it, then you merge to the left, keep going until you're in the leftmost lane or there's no one going slower than you in front of you.
Yeah, I think it's because it's too tall and skinny.
Chopped top.
[t]http://www.allpar.com/photos/vimages/dodge/omni-rampage/dodge-2.jpg[/t]
Though that would be absolutely no head room for anyone about 5'6". If the car was 20-30% bigger it'd be cool.
I'm 6'4 and I fit comfortably inside my rampage, plenty of head and leg room
So?
So this works? Good to know. I've got plenty of 2x4's lying around.
So now it starts and I haven't even touched it since yesterday, although now it still idles at 2.5k but after a few minutes it settled all the way down and died
?????????????????
Is my MR2 possessed by spooky ghosts?
That's not how it works. Right lane should only be occupied when you're exiting or just entered the highway within the last 2 or 3 miles, or obviously during traffic, although traffic wouldn't be a problem if people could drive. Everyone should always be in the middle lane(s) unless they're passing or exiting/just entered the highway.
Uh. This isn't how it works at all.
The leftmost lane is the passing/cruising lane and should not be occupied by cars going the same speed or slower as any car in the lane to their right.
The middle lane, in the case of a 6 lane highway, is another cruising lane to be used at a lower speed than the leftmost lane
The rightmost lane is meant to be used as the slowest cruising lane. As many traffic signs indicate by "Slower traffic keep right" this is typically where semi-trucks and slow moving vehicles SHOULD stay. Obviously you are supposed to change lanes or speed up/slow down to allow merging traffic onto the highway but by no means is the rightmost lane supposed to be kept clear/empty at all times.

Oh god no. You can see it's already starting to crack. If something breaks on your car, replace it with something of the same or better quality. And unless you own a Morgan, DON'T USE WOOD.
Use better quality wood, got it.
So i have a mighty car mods sticker on my car on the drivers side, and these dudes in 350z in the left lane at McDonalds yelled 'Maaad' to me last night. I thought they sad 'Faaag', just use to the normal honda hate. So i said, 'What?', they said it again, then i thought they said 'Baaad'. So i said, 'What? What's up?' Finally after that one of them said 'Maaad! Mighty Car Mods!' and they gave me some thumbs up. Turned out way better than i expected.

amateur mistake. they didnt treat the wood. psh. If you want a soft ride use balasm, more rigid use cedar. The pros use red wood.

So the sticker actually fit on your honda?

Will it fit mine?

Are you kidding me right now.
Balsam Fir is a terrible wood to use for this application. Its Janka hardness is only 400 lbf with a modulus of rupture of only 8,800lbf/in² and Redwood isn't much better, at 450/8950.
What you want for a good sturdy ride for your average consumer is Aromatic Red Cedar. It's got a gorgeous color when properly stained and can stand up to a lot of pressure.
However, the "pros" would definitely not use this or redwood. They'd use something like Quebracho, Lignum Vitae, or Gidgee - All these woods have a Janka Hardness of more than 4,000 lbf and a modulus of rupture in excess of 18,000 lbf/in²
[sp]Yes I went there[/sp]
[editline]11th May 2015[/editline]
Fun fact: Quebraco is absolutely gorgeous

What a stupid fucking design for a car.
Wow I'm late, sorry.
I fucking love dodge rampages
I want one sooooo bad, but with something better than a 4banger.
The 2.2/2.5 in the rampage is the predecessor to the srt4 motor, iirc you can even do a head swap. Its not a terrible motor for the 80s. The 2.5 I had in my old Dynasty was a pile though.
Swapped on my summer tires and noticed one of them was completely flat. Brought it to Kal Tire to have the hole plugged and they did it for free. Cheaper than doing it myself, I like it!
Gas is $3.60 a gallon here, right now.

You should know better than to try and get a piece of Lignum Vita that big, it's not going to happen. It does - however make great bearings as it makes its own natural oil even after cutting - almost like wax. When old ships had wood dowels and roping for helms, then they used small half round lignum wrapped around it to make a slip bearing.
I would personally use Southern Yellow Pine if we were going cheap - redwood is so soft you can almost chew it to cut it. Wenge, purple heart, or oak is what i would choose.
We built a wood trailer for a boat at one time with wood spoked wheels. I wish I had a picture of it somewhere - don't know what happened to it. It was all white oak and phillipine mahogany with brass hardware.
Also take a look at a Hispanio Suiza, entire car is made of wood. I don't remember if the frame was metal or not.
Finally got my free Integra seat mounted in the Civic, turns out many of the mods I did to it other than the "seatpan curbstomp mod were pretty unneeded. All I really had to do was put washers on the side of the frame between the pan and rail to bring it out a little, ream out all the "foot" mounts a little and redrill the flat hole mount in the inside rear. Anyone who tears down these seats entirely to "pan swap" them is a fucking moron and enjoys cannibalizing seats. The worst part is you also have to take the rivets out of the rear outside foot and move it closer one hole. This is mounted as perfect as stock really and includes no janky mods that could be unsafe really. It sits a little higher still but I'm planning to get a smaller steering wheel anyways so everything should turn out great really.

so you're saying white pine is the best option for a comfortable ride. When its raining out your suspension will get softer; and stiffer when its dry
I hear the JDM race cars use the tubular stuff. "Bamboo" I think. You guys gotta get outta the past with your shitty square beam tech, tubular is the way of the future
Test fitted my seats to my parts car, they fit perfectly woo.

All these photos are on my parts car, but my track car looks almost exactly the same anyways, besides being 2-door instead of 4-door

I'm 6'4" and fit in my Daytona nice too, but that guy chopped like 2-4" off of the roof. That would be the top of my head right against the ceiling.
Snoberry Tea may not know much about cars and stuff, but he knows his shit on wood.
Question: Should I make a Tom's Turbo Garage/Petrolheads style build log on the engine swap? I think they're pretty fun to watch. Even if I don't own any of the things they work on. Plus I really want to document the crap out of this because not too many people document their builds very well.
What is a good road course body to build a car off of?
My cousin wants to 2JZ 6 speed swap something and race it on a road course. Looking for something decently priced with a good platform for handling. He was thinking of a E30
Obviously a miata.
Find an FB or FC RX-7 shell. Proper sports car with a big engine bay.

He's got quite the competition with E30s for 2JZ swaps lol. E30s are pretty nice for engine bay size, I mean, what engine hasn't been put in one lol. I'm in the middle of an engine swap in mine and it's pretty roomy
id like to ls a e30 or e36.
