(Current-gen) Civics are cars for people who aren't into cars. They're boring to look at, boring to drive, and boring to work on. They have few to no redeeming qualities if you're looking for anything remotely fun.
Because trying to make a civic fast just makes you a dirty ricer who still has a slow car.
So this is a stupid slow ricer?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1Ap1TyJ2bo
That one's had more done to it than just a turbo stuck on it and it's still a stupid rice rocket.
You want to stick a turbo on your 2013 Civic. It will still be slow.

So what? No different than bumping up power on any other 4banger

I feel a storm brewing. High treason at the altar of Slayer!
Notice how the exhaust manifold is on the left side of the motor? That's where the stock airbox was. I relocated the intake to the right side of the motor next to the intake manifold, where it's 20 degrees cooler. Did you not read the post?
Times like this though, I wonder why the original engineers did what they did. I think I remember reading something about length of the stock intake piping being carefully thought out such that it can suck more freely.

You're fucking cancer dude

Maybe the base model like Civic DX's or something. I think a 2.4L engine that can handle quite a bit of boost without doing anything to the motor is built to be modified. Don't be so sensitive dude.
You can't really argue that civics can be fast because one person made a fast one. Put 1000hp in anything and it will go fast. Ive seen golf carts with superbike motors and 57 chevys that go down the strip faster than that. That doesn't mean all civics are fast or even that your average Joe could make one fast without dumping 30k into parts.
That being said, civics do have their uses, like parking in a bad part of town, lighting on fire, and collecting insurance money.

Current generation Civics are just God-awful. I don't have a problem with Jap imports or tuning said imports although personally they aren't my style, but current gen Civics are grocery getters and they aren't even very good at that - my mother had one and it was quickly replaced.

The Civic Si has 200hp dude, it's not some dumb slow economy car.

ur not a real enthusiast until u have an american v8

I literally said exactly the opposite
The Civic Si has 200hp dude, it's not some dumb slow economy car.
I'm not calling it a dumb slow economy car, I'm calling it a waste of time if you're going for performance. Unless you're not going for performance and you just wanna look like a tool. In that case a few cans of plasti dip and a turbo exhaust whistle will save you a lot of money.
Maybe I'll sell my car for this. http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/633250473/overview/
I used to work with a guy who supercharged a mid-2000s gto
It was faster than greased taco bell shit. If he put it to the wood, you would hear nothing but a furious whine then he was gone.
Pretty classy too.

Yeah they sound fucking sick even stock. The guy I work with has a racing cam in his... The car shakes around as it idles. Orgasmic. He just got wide ass tires on it because it has so much torque that he couldn't even get grip.

I'm pretty sure Civics, by definition, are economy cars. Not the slowest, but still economy cars. I wouldn't bother supercharging it unless you want to rent another car to drive for the next couple months, because once you start going forced induction, you're gonna have to modify quite a bit of the engine bay, and unless you're rebuilding the whole engine with performance-oriented parts (performance exhaust, lower-compression pistons, new piston sleeves, stronger con-rods, new cams, and new valves and valve-springs), it's kind of just a waste to just slap a supercharger and an aftermarket ECM on a newer car like that. It will probably ruin it's reliability and not add as much power as you are expecting. Also, good luck with the electrical problems you will be sorting out for god knows how long.
Tesla hits the nail on the head. The GTO would be a good choice. They're fun to drive, plus they're one of the last good things Pontiac did, and that one looks very well taken care of.

Yeah. Kinda high in mileage but the TLC on that car might make up for it.
So I can get 18k for my car private sale according to KBB, or like 16 for trade-in. Guess I'll sell it privately, though I've never done that before so I may opt to sell it to a dealer because I'm lazy.
One of the good things about American engines is the tolerances are so bad from the start they can't really get much worse no matter what you do.
I'm kidding. It'll be fine if it's been cared for, and that one looks like it has been. Call the dude and see about a test drive as soon as you can.

Yeah, I'm just surprised that my car dropped in price as quick as it did. I paid like 25k for it. 16k for trade in already? Wow

That's new cars, for you. Once you drive it off the lot, it's fucking worthless.

But it doesn't have a previous owner who possibly raped the shit out of it.

It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Sure it does. If you buy a car you don't want it to have issues or have been ragged to death.
I had a fun drive home today, merged onto the highway goin the speed limit of 60mph and a county cop merges behind me from another highway and stayed there for the 20 miles to my turn off. Nobody behind us had the balls to go the usual 70mph that they do on that road so there was just a huge line of cars :v:

I floored it next to some jackass in a parking lot after lunch one day trying to stand by his car looking all cool. Next thing I notice a cop behind me that follows me all the way out to the highway. Scared the piss outta me. But merging at 60mph? That's pretty normal highway speeds dude.

The value still drops exponentially once you buy it and drive it. Whether you plan to take care of it, or not.

I bought a damned decommissioned cop car from a shady eBay dealership in Chicago after just seeing pics. I fully expected a clapped out tranny or something, but aside from a reasonably worn starter, cheap paint job, and a screw in the rear left tire, it was nearly perfect.
