Be good at driving, look like a buff version of God, be a good salesperson and buy sponsors - Wahlah! You're a NASCAR man.
1. Be good at driving. - Check.
2. Look like a buff version of God. - Just need some upper body training.
3. Be a good salesperson. - haha not, gotta work on that.
4. Buy sponsors. - Considering refunding my college plan and doing just that.
I have no idea what I'm doing, until I'm behind the wheel at least.
Follow my dreams or do what every one tells me to do... hmmm
Working on my wiper linkage right now, I can't find the right bushing anywhere for my wiper linkage so I'm JB-Welding the old one on and it's curing in front of me on my desk. Hopefully it works and I'll be able to use my wipers on the MR2!

I have an issue like this with my Civic, one of the plastic bushings failed and there's roughly 4 -5 inches of play up and down so my wipers like to sit far up on the window if the wind pushes them up from doing 80 or if I don't move them down all the way by hand. They also smack the windshield trim a little.
Replacing it is a nightmare though, I think I'd rather pull the motor before fixing it :v:

When you're there, throw in a good word for me. I wanna skip numbers 2-4 myself and get in there. :v:

I'll do what I can ;)
I know this is technically motorcycle stuff, but either that thread is dead or I'm blind. I've got a few gouges in the external surface of my bike's crankcase, maybe 2-3mm deep. Is there any sort of high-temperature body filler I can use on it? I found a site that advertised Pyro Putty, but I figured I would check around for other solutions as well.
Secondly, anyone experienced getting large dents out of tanks? I've got one on each side from the handlebars, pretty significant. I want to push them back as best I can before going at it with filler - shaping is a bitch.
Thirdly, I need an LED/halogen hi/low headlight with good throw. Anyone thoughts?
Sorry if this is the wrong thread. Closest thing I saw though.
What I can gather is that you laid it down. Good going.
The engine, you could probably weld some material on and sand it down, or use jb weld and repaint it. The tank, I have no idea. I'd take that to a body shop. Better to have it professionally done and have it look good.

JB Weld.
probably 10 years ago, my dirtbikes rockgaurd missed a really big rock that busted a hole in my crankcase and let all my oil out. I drained the oil, JB welded it, filled it up, and never had another problem with it since.

Yup. Didn't realize the road had been tilled and I hit soft dirt at ~20. Thanks for the tips. I was going to tap out the dents, smooth it out, and then have it powder coated.

I figured it would boil down to that. Think it's worth it to get the steelstik stuff?

I'd use the high temp stuff and then clean up the motor really nice, stipped down and blast it with some aluminum engine paint all over with a few good coats. I'd assume it's water cooled and what not, dunno what painting an air cooled motor may do. Give it a good ol' redneck rebuild.

I'd also love to see motorcycle stuff in here, old bikes are cool as hell.
Well, this happened.

I painted my aircooled dirt bikes motor. It smoked for a while, but never burnt off. It actually works as a sort of crude temp gauge. If the paint starts smoking again, its telling me I should either get some air moving or shut it off.
I'm wondering if the black powdercoating Harley did to the engine on their bikes causes them to hold heat. On the flipside, the aluminum Harley uses looks god awful naked.
My bike is aircooled, but I'm not overly concerned as I can keep an eye on the temperature via the dash. Plus, I'm planning on getting a used S2R oil cooler from egay that I'll be rigging on.

That works great. Do you know if they can be ordered in single units? I'm working on a slim budget, but if push comes to shove having a spare headlight handy isn't the worst thing in the world.
7 days off of work due to a parking lot sale coming up, woot can actually work on the Detroit

please don't encourage him
went and saw a 1991 chevy s10, 4.3 v6. Thats a whole lot of truck in not a lot of space. 172xxx miles, pretty clean. I like it, but I think all that torque would be wasted on me. All I'm hauling is me and my bike. I think its a trade up though. Do it? (trade miata for s10?)

Don't worry, I'm sure it won't be long until he gets himself banned again.

what happened to the E36?
what happened to the E36?
dudes goin on vacation for a few weeks, and I wanted a pickup truck to start with anyways. And this pickup is p. nice. well taken care of.
So, knowing the world, and how stupid we are; Has anyone ever made a Cubic-foot engine for a car before?
Boat is fixed...mostly. We cooked the temp sensor testing all this shit so now it just goes off when it wants to. Easy fix. So glad this is finally done.
Thermostats, poppet valve, impeller, and water pump replaced all to find out it was due to a bad gasket. smh.
Its all behind us.

He's unbanned. I give him two days before he's back.

Another three after that before he's banned again. :v:

The dude with the S10 will be laughing if you trade for the miata, S10s are worth like $1000-1500 IF you can find someone to buy it, whereas a miata can fetch and easy $2500-5000 depending on condition

The rolls royce we have is pretty much 1 cubic foot.

also the S10 is an automatic lol
Anyone here have any experiences with autocross? Registered for one in June and I am going to run it in my 2011 Mustang. I have read over the check lists for it along with the rules/regulations. I am just wondering if there are some tidbits that might not be covered in those that I should be aware of.
