That is CLEEEEEEEAN! What did you pay again? Man, done in a nice dark green or gloss black and lowered a little with tasteful rims that would be the coolest thing to roll around in
Tint the windows a little, chop the roof 2-4 inches
I like the color, and I hate chopped and lowered cars.I paid 2000$ or it
Did my 5th wheel change on the Saab yesterday, now back on studded tyres.
Fuck even a shit-tier body of 1972 Challenger is worth 2x more than my running vehicle thats 27 years newer. This is why the entire state cant have nice things
thank the baby boomers who think ANY old car is worth 20k+
So I went a garage to get a quote on new struts, the total with labor was 1200. I thought this was ridiculous so I found some cheap struts (Sensen) on ebay, all 4 were $113.00. The parts were matched against my make and model and year of my vehicle, if i bring these to the shop, will they only charge me for labor and price of other parts? What other parts might be needed? How expensive are the insulators on shocks because I'm sure I need new ones
Dont buy eBay shit. You'll regret it.
That's real cheap for a set of all 4 struts, like REAL cheap.
What happened to make them believe you needed new struts anyway?

The shop is still going to gouge you on labor .
Asked the shop next to my work how much to swap out the wheel cylinders if I supply all the parts, they wanted 800$ to start....

Well I went to a different garage for an oil change and they showed me how the struts have a lot of play when they're being compressed and depressed, also I hear a loud squeaking in my front wheel wells every time I hit pot holes, which would lead me to guess they're leaking? Anyways they also showed me how the front wheel bearing have a lot of give, moving the tire side to side proved easy.
I had the bearings done the other week by this new shop and the rides been great, only paid about 450. So now I just want new struts because honestly I want to get rid of this car ASAP. I want to sell it and buy a new one
I am really glad I took shop class in highschool with what shops are charging in labor It would be more economical to buy a new car every time something needs replacing.
If you want to sell it now don't spend 1200 on struts :v:

This makes me want to cry. Those mudflaps.
they look like guillotines
yeah im gonna need to learn how to do that my shocks and struts are all toast and the repair shop wants like $1500
All it needs is a paint job but thats a wicked price
Since we don't have our car videogame subforum in AA anymore, who plays Forza5 on Xbone? Add me: Serjrulz22
I mostly do vinyl art, but I do race occasionally - it pays for more canvases for vinyl.
Pic related, it's based on a real car.

You cheap out on struts like that then you better have a couple grand sitting around to rebuild your whole suspension, and buy new tires ever other month...

You better knock down the price a bit if those shit struts make their way into the car

You can't escape labor unless if you DIY. But depending on your car, you may need a spring compressor.

Yeah I already figured that one out
Wait you guys don't replace your own shocks? It's easy as taking off your wheel, 2-4 bolts, and putting a new one in. Some cars might need another jack under the wheel to compress the spring but besides that, its piss easy.
