did you guys get many fiats in that era?
I don't think so. If we did they've all broken down and were turned into scrap. :v:
My uncle has a Harley shop and last time I saw him he was complaining about the 50 different computer tools he needed to buy just to do simple stuff on new Harleys. I'll agree with him, aside from ignition and maybe fuel injection, computers on motorcycles seem pretty superfluous. Nothing wrong with carburetors.
which is why I took it to the dealer instead of buying my own tools for it. I wish it had a simple obd2 port but nope, bikes don't follow the same rules as cars so they can have as many ridiculous features as they want.

I also did a thing a bit ago, I wanted better fog lights and wanted some KC lights out of storage (my room). So yeah, statement or something: [t]http://i.imgur.com/qdpVdtq.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/kBd7Pti.jpg[/t] They don't really fit the style, but I don't much care as there is a Chevy cavalier painted matte brown with HUGE round KC lights bolted to the top of the bumper. Dude works at a mechanics shop next door to a Harbor Freight.
except being less efficient
Properly built carburetors can be almost as or as efficient as average fuel injection systems. The efficiency has more to do with the engines they're typically found on. I've seen 350s getting 20-25 mpg around town. I like carburetors because I find carbureted engines easier to work with and around than fuel injected engines. Any downsides to carbs in general use are outweighed by that imo. Comes down to personal taste I guess.
nothing with that criteria exists in the united states
The dodge - motherloving - dart. Its a compact car of its time. Its narrower than audI a6 I had and only 4" longer than it. You could also opt for a ford falcon, a chevy II, a datsun 510 but that may be 70s. Plymouth valiant, plymouth barracuda, dodge lancer, ford cortina (if you can find one), lotus (70s). I coild think of others but any has the potential to be a "good" car. Id look for a Chevy II "nova" if your looking for something common. Theyre small too. [editline]24th May 2015[/editline]
except being less efficient
A carburetor is actually a really efficient fuel regulation device. Especially if you think of how far theyve come. Auto manufacturers ultimately turned them into throttle body injectors, computer controlled rochesters, etc. Direct injection has the upper hand of cutting out most of the problems of preignition. No fuel in the cylindwr to ignite when its not supposed to. But carburetors, while not as fuel efficient are definitly still tunable. Also when the nuclear emp hits or something along the lines of war of the worlds, ill laugh as I load us into our dodge darts and take off for the shore to go settle down on an offshore oil rig, while you steuggle to start your computer conteolled car and innevitable get vaporized by lasers...
The dodge - motherloving - dart. Its a compact car of its time. Its narrower than audI a6 I had and only 4" longer than it.
Holy shit, seriously? The thing looks like a yacht but is actually small?
Holy shit, seriously? The thing looks like a yacht but is actually small?
Yessir.short of 17ft long and a little close to 5 1/2 feet wide. Also whenever I park next ro a civic you can see its physically a larger car than mine, but not as long. I have 13" of trunk depth to the top of the lid. Newer cars you get about 2 1/2 feet or more.
Holy shit, seriously? The thing looks like a yacht but is actually small?
Yes, old cars are insanely smaller than new cars. [t]http://image.motortrend.com/f/features/performance/1107_camaro_challenger_shelby_old_vs_new_cars/32941054/old-vs-new-chevrolet-camaro-front-end-inomotion.jpg[/t][t]http://i43.tinypic.com/2zxr280.jpg[/t] Even a 280z with it's mile long engine bay/hood like a Jag and huge stanced out wheels is dwarfed by even a FRS let alone the 370z. Don't be fooled though, I don't even fit in a buddy's 280z with his stupid high racing seats. They are pretty small cars passenger compartment wise. Cars have got extremely fat, a new Challenger weighs more than than many trucks on the road. Just remember the most land barge of cars from the 70's and 80's weighed roughly what a new Challenger weighs.... [editline]23rd May 2015[/editline] Here's some great perspective, this Cadillac weighs probably a touch less than a 2015 SRT Hellcat(4440lbs). Clean 68 grilles fetch a good price too but most dont get beat up too bad. I know you want to personalize your car more but some things are better left untouched. My grill was black. pure black, because it was entirely made of rust and I painted it black. I taped off the chrome, sanded everything, hit it with some dull silver, then tomorrow I'll be painting in the black accents kind of how it was stock. It will look exactly like what you have there, well - close, except with silver, instead of chrome in the middle, which is better than nothing. Also the whole bottom part of the grill is gone.... on purpose, but Patience. You'll see my vision soon enough. You also have to remember, my 4 door is not for parts - never will be. So I could care less how much the grill is worth. I've found them pop up all over in the same shape mine was in for $70. It won't be a problem to revert. The prices on grills must just suck where you are. Here's what it looked like stock: To me it always made me think of a chain link fence - like random un-thought-out lines. So I was going to rebrush the "chrome" or what was left of it in the grill with silver and clean it up... and that didn't make it look any better, so I did this: Then with the intercooler in, you could see it behind the grill depending on how you looked at it. The top row of the grill will look like what Valon posted in the photo above (row being the part above the center stripe. The lower half is now non-existant so there's no need to paint it black. Through the hole you'll see the smaller intercooler with the label across the front. I may paint the intercooler black and the lettering white, but haven't decided on that yet. So the silver is laid down for now, the chrome is still chrome, except the center part, which was bad, so it is silver. Then tommorow I mask off everything that will stay silver and paint black. You'll see... I liked the blacked out grill, too.
That's the exact intercooler I have coming in, because it will fit between the limited pipe lengths in there. I can't go higher unfortunately because the parking lamps take up a lot of space back there. I also have a radiator overflow canister coming in. The grill is essentially going to look just like it was a moment ago, but with more detail and a much nicer product. I had just brushed black paint on the grill while it was still on the car. It held up fine, but I'm doing it correctly now, is what I'm getting at. Hopefully in the beginning of next week I'll have my first batch of Mishi stuff. I got: 1x Large Aluminum Coolant Reservoir 2x 2.5" 90* silicone elbows (nice clean blue ones) 4x 2.75" T-bolt Clamps 1x 2.5" T bolt clamp 1x Z-line universal intercooler 1x 1.3 BAR radiator cap 1x Chilly The Penguin next order will be... 1x Universal 10 Row oil cooler 1x Aluminum Oil Catch Can 1x Hump Hose Coupler 2.5" 1x Water Temp Sensor Adapter 1x Plymouth Barracuda Small Block Radiator
Anyone ever fly out and roadtrip their new purchase back home? I've noticed that Seattle has some pretty desirable stuff and I may look at stuff around there next time I go for PAX Prime. Also, update on the MR2. It's not happening. Guy had second thoughts and is beating around the bush, yet again. I give up.

You could probably change the sockets or maybe seal a socket into the housing and instead run wires out of the back of it since the lens is removable so you don't need the big socket coming out of it. People make some crazy stuff work with limited space on Hondas, it looks like you have enough room to package anything you could want back there lol. You'd probably want someone to check it out ASAP real quick and you'd need to move very fast. You'd also need plenty of cooperation with the owner or things could go very south very quick. I'd probably stick to forum listings on reputable sites compared to a random setup with a dude on Craigslist. Plan and expect entirely to come back empty handed and absolutely do not buy it unless it exceeded your set expectations otherwise it was a total waste. I've checked out listings for 1st gen Celicas before on a couple forums for them, prices seemed fairly decent.
