The 400 (6.6L) bog block is shit. That isnt even a good year of ranchero, I dont think the deal is fair. Got pics of your miata?
New news in the miata trade game. Goin to see a 73 ranchero 500. Runs good looks good gonna see it tomorrow. Needs a non urgant carb clean says owner
Then he can clean it. Takes all of an hour. I don't buy the story. When you go look at it, ask him if you can shutdown all the cylinders individually while it runs. If he says no, walk away. If he says yes, pull one spark plug wire off the cap, if the engine starts stumbling, put the wire back. Then pull the next one. etc... etc... if you pull one that makes the engine run exactly the same, that cylinder is misfiring due to a burned valve, broken head gasket, fucked oil ring, or some other low compression issue. I hate things that say they need a new "x" or "x needs cleaned" and how cheap and easy it is to do it. If it was cheap or easy they would have done it. I personally like the ranchero, we've built a couple custom wood beds for them, so if you want one, bring it by if it's worth buying - 73 isn't exactly a good year though - pretty sure that's when they started retarding their engines power.
Thats true for all cars 70 onwards saw a HUGE decrease in horsepower in part due to how they calculated it but more so to trying to meet emissions standards.
Here's some pictures of my car: It might pull 3k, if I'm lucky and patient. That ranchero can pull way more. But that is some very good tips serj. I will use them.
It looks fairly clean aside from the war wounds, why are you looking to get rid of it? Getting replacement fenders and a door shouldn't be too hard, then paint it and you'll have a nice car.
Someone looking for a 510 I hear? http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/pml/cto/5008158530.html [editline]25th May 2015[/editline] http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/cto/5030321173.html wow this is rare for NA.
https://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/cto/5002677327.html Really tempted to replace my 99 civic with this thing
On topic of old japanese car craigslist findings, i found this one a couple days ago: Guy deleted the original ad though

Keep in mind that I bought that miata for $1700. I want a better highway car. I want a bed. Ranchero does those things. If I don't like it, sell it or trade it. The consequences are relatively minimal, if it's a good car (and I'll check)

I always like a nice surprise, and yesterdays was how long some bushings I replaced managed to last considering they were OEM. Swaybar link bushings, damn near gone. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ryow188.jpg[/t] And strut bar bushings, they look alright, right? [t]http://i.imgur.com/l46TFlc.jpg[/t] Wrong. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zs9qYcs.jpg[/t] Squishy [t]http://i.imgur.com/QVh9RLr.jpg[/t] Them squishy bushing there are the reason every time I would hit the brakes in reverse I'd hear a really strange clunk, ping, or squeak kinda noise. But it'd only happen when I hit the brakes going backwards. And If I kicked either wheel, the wheel would wobble forwards and backwards, which I'd say could have been contributing to some overzealous tire wear while accelerating or braking. Next is bushings for the back, a boot for my drivers inner CV that got punctured by a tree limb (small one, small hole, slinging CV grease) I ran over a few days ago I couldn't avoid, and a few other minor things I have to go over before I decide whether I need or want to replace or fix.

Just don't buy cheap garbage ones they don't fit. Those are radius rod/arm bushings, for some reason parts makers have decided they are part of the strut. Did you have to pull the front subframe or unbolt the radius rod?
Y'all have a good Memorial Day. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Stuff/1403653552763.jpg[/t]
[t]http://soleedus.me/i/2015-05-24_22-17-06.jpg[/t] The light reflector thingy next to the turn signal light fell off the other day :( I have no idea how I'm going to find a replacement
To continue on the topic of west coast 510's there's a extremely clean 510 for sale in Salem, found it on BaT. Hmm. Calling dibs on this 1979 toyota truck. Only $1300 and apparently could do with a carb rebuild. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/5014473573.html [editline]25th May 2015[/editline] Check out the sweet bed cover he made :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/SCUg0Ge.jpg[/t] It's now or never really. But it looks like the registration just expired. Can any Californians here chime in on the process? Is towing my only choice?

I try not to use to cheap or to expensive wrenches as it can damage or break them if you pull to hard. DO NOT do this trick to tighten bolts/nuts, you can very easily snap off almost anything with this trick. And a big fat lol on my self, I put the damn bushings in backwards, the same way they came out. Guess the last owners had no idea what they were doing. :suicide: I'll just flip them over later, I dont have alot of driving to do today anyway.
79? eiw. Why would you want a smogger?
Because it's $1300 (also mini-truck-thing). Deliver me a running 510 or Z for that much and I'll reconsider. :v: [editline]25th May 2015[/editline] Also look at it. It doesn't look like ass.
I'm getting better and better at getting these. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Pic%27s/IMAG0617.jpg[/t] I mean truly. I don't see the issue officer. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Owned%20Vehicles/92%20Chevy%201500/IMAG0620.jpg[/t] [editline]ghkgnh[/editline] And for the first time I got asked to step out of the vehicle..... after I said "I have a loaded gun in the vehicle." "Were ya going?" - "McDonalds we hungy." "What gun ya got?" - "12 gauge Remington Model 870" "Is this your vehicle" - "Yus sir, If it wasn't I have been working on it for free." "Whos that in your vehicle with you." - "Muh sister."
So I did a video thing of my progressing exhaust sounds, I like what I hear, but do others? You decide.

I imagine they're difficult to find parts for?
I don't think it's that bad. The engine is either a B18 or a B20, which can also be found in a 240, 140, PV or Amazon. I should buy a yugo. :v: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/5003509811.html
I should buy a yugo. :v: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/5003509811.html
that's legit over priced. You'd have to give one of those away if you wanted it gone. I'd give him 200 dollars for it. Slayer, how is this dumb? The yugo is literally the worst car ever, and this guy wants one grand for one? You could get a shitty civic or even an old motorcycle for 1k that will be leagues more reliable than that shitheap. They're worth more as scrap metal than cars.
if it runs the junkyard would take $500 around me... soo...
Just applied for a job at a NAPA near me, I really hope I get it. I'd love to work there, I like helping people with cars and haven't gotten much of a chance to IRL. Wish me luck guys.
