Awww it was only a prototype and never entered production. Why? I bet that thing would have been SUPER fucking popular. Honestly it sounds amazing. 8L Magnum V10 w/ 6 wheel drive? It was supposed to have 497HP and 593lbft of torque. [editline]27th May 2015[/editline]
[t]https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5587/14979740617_3a8c1eb6de_b.jpg[/t]
Yeah I saw that one too but it doesn't look like Mercedes ACTUALLY produces it. Also it's kind of ugly. *edit* Nevermind saw a profile picture of it online. It's actually kind of cool looking from the side but I'm still not a fan of the design. Still can't find any production information on it but apparently Mercedes wants over $600,000 for it. Seems a bit excessive.
holy shit the car is actually the one from RCR
http://jalopnik.com/5882293/custom-6x6-ford-truck-is-almost-as-ridiculous-as-it-is-massive/ Holy shit that's awesome. [t]http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--E4EgI1pJ--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/18n1qy7j7aqa1jpg.jpg[/t]
I'm curious... What would you rather have: Suzuki Vitara (cost around $2,000 used in New Zealand) [t]http://zombiedrive.com/images/1994-suzuki-sidekick-2.jpg[/t] Or Jeep Cherokee XJ (costs as low as $3,500 or more Used in New Zealand) [t]https://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd21/xjbanker/IMG_5744-1.jpg[/t] A 1.6L (Vitara) vs a 4L (Cherokee XJ). A friend of mine keeps saying his tiny 2 door Vitara is better than a whole lot of four wheel drives, especially Pajeros (I know someone who has a Lexus V8 in his Parjero)...
Can we get a TV show exclusively about building and racing these absurd things? I've seen the 46 liter Brutus and the 27 liter Bentley, too. I love how slow the startup on this one is. Fucking wacky races shit. Serj, you need to repurpose that Meteor engine.
Jeep Cherokee all the way. I love Jeep.

They scream VIP even without VIP stance Actually.. after watching that RCR vid it makes me really, really want one. Def trade for it. That car is timeless, it looks like a late 90's Toyota, and it was released in '89. That's crazy. It's what a luxury car should be. Wow they're expensive, too. I see some pristine examples on ebay for over 10k. That's amazing for a 25 year old luxury car. BMW and Mercedes don't age anywhere near that well usually (omg and especially Audi)

Thanks clutch, now I need to do laundry.
rolling stock looks killer, why change?
I'm just not a stock wheel kind of guy, I guess. I can respect people who accept the machine as 'perfect' from the factory, but I never have. Gotta have my way with stuff. If the car was a rebuild or salvage title it'd be under the knife for a sweet pearl paint job or something, but for the way the car is now and how 'original' it is I'm not going to do anything to it that's not reversible or bolt on. It's kind of a new adventure for me, because each car I've owned has had a different theme. My Buick is an over the top showy car inspired by hip hop and mini trucks. The Olds Aurora was a low rider inspired entry into the world of flake and candy paint.. complete with budget 13" spokes and bandanna print interior. My Corizm is of course a classic JDM inspired throwback, borrowing kaido racer and shakotan styling cues as well as my own flare into it. It's my anime addiction in car form that runs on the idea of 'cheap car made to be exactly how I want it, luxury and all'. Thus the heater wheel, steering wheel controls, stereo, remote start, proximity keyless entry, etc. Speaking of kaido racer styling.. the 7-pipe exhaust has been hanging since last september and I've been working on sourcing some polished stainless stock to make a new takeyari pipe ;) The NSX is something else entirely. It's not going to ooze 'ridiculous' like some of the other things I've done. However it also needs to not give off the 'rich white guy car' smell it does now. I bought it from a rich white guy, the community is full of rich white guys.. I'm not with that. I'm not a rich white guy, lol. I'm a moderately successful young dude who has a deep respect for almost every modified car culture there is, and I've gotta pursue my own image and ideals through what I drive. In this case it's going to be an exercise in pushing the envelope as far as I can while retaining the ability to go 'back to stock' should I decide to sell it to someone who prefers the car in that condition. It also can't ruing the driving experience. If I put suspension on it it can't be rock hard.. I need to be able to enjoy spirited driving without swerving potholes like I have to do with a stance car. Kei Miura didn't get famous by going 'these are nice cars, I'll just drive them'. Instead he's taken wild stylings of his own design and made Rocket Bunny world famous. Same with Rauh-Welt the Japanese Porsche tuning shop. Nakai, the man who builds each and every car there, has made himself into a legend by making his own style and sharing it with the masses. I'm still young and trying to figure out what my 'style' is. I have a style of 12v installing that is very apparently my own, and I want to continue to extend it to the cars I build. I have a story to write, I'd like to think I've only pounded out a couple important opening chapters so far and the real work is yet to come.

I'm definitely getting another 4 liter Cherokee when I can afford to own one. I used to have two as some of you might remember
Here's hoping that old NSX made it to NFS reboot or something
What do you guys think about driving cars that don't fit your status, like a 20 something student driving an old Lexus or Audi a6?
I drive an old Benz S-Class, and I get asked "whos in the trunk?" all the time... With a G-Wagen, you aren't buying it for looks, you are buying it because it will go anywhere and run over any lesser being at the botique parking lot with grace.

I've seen less than I can count in real life, being an NSX warrants being different than every other car on the road already. Try not to get caught up too much with it as you might find that you dislike the things you've done to the car and hate yourself for hurting or changing something that you can't reverse on something you love so much. It's easy to look at a car and be like, I want to do this, this and this to it and it think it will make you happy with how it is. I believe though that there's often a time where that $500 you want to spend on something for it will be vastly better spent through gas as seat time driving it around, experiencing the road and other people. I see stanced out nice cars as rich white guy cars that bought a cheaper car than they could probably afford still but instead want to spent tons more money into making it look cool. I'd rather see a clean stockish NSX with 200k miles primarily by that current owner than a "show car". [editline]27th May 2015[/editline] I also really want an XJ for a off roading and oregon coast dunes exploration. There's so much to explore up in the woods and I've been missing it so bad since all my buddy who had a Bronco and a Tacoma left for the military.

Unless he's done some crazy mods to his Vitara, it doesn't even measure up to the control arms on a Pajero, Patrol or XJ.
After sanding the filler, and some anti-rust work, some paint got on [t]http://puu.sh/i3Db0.jpg[/t] Then after putting it back together, and even more anti-rust stuff it was finished [t]http://puu.sh/i3Dct.jpg[/t] And that is how you repair rust the professional way :v: This is what I do at school atm, and my exam is next week
It's awesome. If you can afford it, why not? I've got friends that drive E60 BMWs and mid-2000s A6s, my cousins both owned a BMW 740 before they turned 20. I myself drive a 2001 Saab 9-5, which is sort of a cheap luxury car.
I was thinking of getting a 90's coupe like a Honda prelude or celica and my dad offered to split the bills on an early 2000's Audi a6 or Lexus is200 as he needs a weekend trip car while I need a daily commuter. We're also looking at Mitsubishi Lancer's of around the same year, thoughts?
Weekend before last, I installed my coilovers. This past weekend, I tuned them so they're comfortable to drive on. Smooth ride, turns like a beast, but now there is creaking coming from the engine bay at low speed when I turn the wheel. I figure it's either the control arms, or maybe the power steering rack. I'll have to try to track it down this weekend and figure out what's going on.
I get that that spot is a different panel so you don't have to worry about a paint line, but how do you make a paint line on the same panel less noticeable? My fenders are starting to lose paint from surface rust, and once it stops raining every other day, I'm gonna sand all the rust off and por-15 about a 2 inch ring around the fender wells. Also is it possible to masking tape in a smooth semicircle?
We just had the S15 re-mapped with some anti lag. It sounds very cool when you stand next to it
I had to

To prevent paint lines, now I'm not good at this but I find that masking a much larger area and spraying a thin layer that blends into the rest of the paint around the spot works well for me. I fucked up some rust "repairs", but the painting around it blends almost perfectly even though it's a mismatched color, so I'm really looking forward to working on my car this summer
