How hard is it to adjust alignment myself on a big simple RWD BOF sedan? My car pulls ever so slightly to the right and it's really starting to bug me.
It's pretty difficult to do well and you could probably mess with it for days, it's also quite possible that the roads where you live are "crowned" for rainwater run off. All the roads in Oregon have a slight curve to them so that the rain drains off of them instead of flooding.

The string method however is probably the "best" way to do it yourself properly.
Alignments are pretty cheap and best done by professionals with their professional alignment machines imo
Real professionals at a real alignment shop, tire shops that do alignments are just a bunch of hacks who put shit in spec and call it good after everything on the board goes green.
About shit myself today on the interstate. I was driving up towards the Chicago suburbs area when suddenly there's a huge boom. I notice I'm in the shoulder, no idea how I got there. Apparently I started to fall asleep or something and didn't notice, and I skimmed up on the concrete divider. I have never really had issues with falling asleep with driving, nor was I all that tired at the time, so I was absolutely terrified when it happened. Luckily there weren't any cars around, and even though I hit a concrete divider while going 80 MPH, the only damage done was a bit of a scuffed wheel. The alignment wasn't even messed up. I kinda just bounced off it and kept driving.
So after that, if I ever feel even slightly sleepy while driving, I'm going to stop.
Microsleep is very dangerous. We have tons of ads here in NSW about pulling over if you're tired because of stuff like this.
Finally did it.

I had that exact tach in my first car. It didn't come with one, so I drilled a hole in the area where the dashboard curves down to the center console, and mounted it there so I could see it at 4 o'clock on the steering wheel, between the spokes.
So these were the rims I was talking about. These fucking oil drums are going on the Supra some time. My friend had a set lying around in the same size. Redbull and a pack of cigarettes for size comparison.

Those are fucking insane. What size are they?
AAAH, FUCK YES! I've been fucking going on at the oil drain plug for literally 2,5 hour, and finally I got it loose
I'm so happy I could cry
[editline]29th May 2015[/editline]
it was literally round
so I finally figured out I could smoothen out two sides so they were flat, and then I could get a good grip

This kid at my old shop tried to remove lug nuts with an impact hammer that had the wrong sized socket on it and rounded 3 of them before anyone noticed he was retarded.
I've been looking at Karmann Ghias and man are they are tempting.
I mean, they're slow, but they do look pretty rad.

Been there, done that. Someone apparently tightened mine with an american V8, and it certainly didn't help that the actual head was ridiculously tiny (it could easily have been 5mm bigger) And then there was the engine cleaner/oil thinner too...
my car has failed inspection.
a++ rust hole under driver side door.

Show me, we go through the same inspection and I'm interested.
Went pick up my friend at enterprise today when he went drop off his rental. He repaid me with a 2" thick 21oz ribeye. I'm so full that I'm falling asleep while typing this....

I wouldn't buy a Karmann unless it had a better engine swapped in.
It's criminal that a car that sleek has such an underpowered brick of an engine.

I mean... a subaru swap shouldn't be too hard. :v:
Can worn out brake pads squeal when the brakes arent being used, but not squeal when the brakes are on?
Ive got this really annoying squeak/squeal, but it only happens when the car is moving and undrer light throttle.

Wait.
No you mean to tell me
that general mayhem
is getting
A hellcat motor?
I need new pants.
Finnegan confirmed that after the Hellcat video a month or so ago. But yes, Mayhem's getting the Hellcat from the Challenger I believe, and the implied another car was getting a Viper-10.
[editline]29th May 2015[/editline]
Also, yes, brakes can squeal under light load (think bumps, dips, and hard turning without braking) but be fine under braking forces. My car's doing it, and I'm told it's time to replace rotors and pads. Joy.
I had a stroke of pure fucking luck today.
I was riding my motorcycle, following a big ass land rover. I was following at the proper interval, right in line with his driver side wheels. I notice him swerve to the right, and under his suv comes one of those rubber things that holds down the big fat road cones.

^ the bottom of that.
I missed it by INCHES. The rest of the ride home I was fucking have a crisis in my head about how hitting that could have killed me.

Whenever brakes act up I "rebed" them, so pretty much just beat the hell out of them. If the sound is still there there's something mechanically wrong with them in some sort of way. Brakes can definitely squeal because they're worn out or the caliper has seized or the pins are seized.

You seem to be a magnet for danger.
You seem to be a magnet for danger.
How so? I've only had 1 incident on my bike, and 2 close calls. That's pretty good not only for a rider, but for a beginner rider.

Finally got my outer tierod, fresh brake rotors and oil filters. Hopefully I'll get them in at some point here but it's 80f+ outside and it's hot as balls so nope. I'll probably get it all done sometime in the next couple days at night, then my Civic won't have a defective, busted tie rod and my Integra won't violently shake because I use the brakes and Autozone blanks can't handle existing.
Memorial day totally fucked all of my shipments, it's taken a week and a half to get items up the west coast and over two weeks for Amazon to get a phone case via USPS to me while I was able to ship a phone via USPS Saturday and arrive on the east coast Tuesday.
[editline]29th May 2015[/editline]
Rockauto ran out of the Denso filters though and I got the last 3 but they haven't restocked them yet, I really really really hope that my favorite filter hasn't been discontinued...
Anyone ever have any problems regarding black goop dripping from their doors? I think it's the adhesive that holds the vapor barrier on.
It's gotten to the point that there are stalactites of goop hanging from the door.
On topic of karmann ghias.
I would NOT buy anything to restore other than a type 1, type 2 and 3 are plagued with EXPENSIVE SHIT. Like seriously it costs 2x as much to build one just from the price differences in body parts.
WISE WORDS FROM DP THAT THOUGHT TYPE 3 SQUAREBACKS WERE COOL.
Welp, looks like I'm not looking for squarebacks anymore.
Car is back on the ground, wheels are ready for tires, and beer is ready for me. Also ordered angle kit last night and a bunch of other paycheck killers. Couple more things then burnout time

I mean, mom doesn't drive her Fury III, maybe, just maybe, dad would let me yank the one out of that and replace the currents 360 in my Dart....
I can dream, at least.
