I don't have a problem dreaming big... but dreaming expensive, well.
Also funny story about yall, my dad was google "Nice 1974 Dodge Dart Sports" and found a picture I posted here a couple years ago. He asked where I uploaded and I just sorta stammered out something about a car site. This post:
Oh dear lord how the fuck did you even find that post, that is YEARS old
That picture was just to show what it was supposed to look like when it was done, not my EXACT car, haha. At the time I made that post the car was mostly rust and mouse poo! but my father and I messed with the ideas we had and it came out looking like this:

(also it's a 1974 Dodge Dart Sport, not a duster. Essentially it's the same car though aside from the name :v: )
I was worried about it for a sec until I realized he cannot use computers for anything besides google or ebay which is good since no one can ever know about my shitposts now
[sp]still don't know how some freakin' weirdo remembered a post I made from like when I joined but I mean I appreciate it though : ^) [/sp]
Hmm.. A baja sounds pretty fun.

oh I forgot to mention I did my first oil change with my moms boyfriend the other day.
first he went under to undo the drain bolt and he didnt realize how far the oil would shoot out since it is sideways on the oil pan and got his arm coated in hot oil
and then we barely could undo the filter because the wrench wasn't very tight and there was some engine part in the way (block?)
it was much easier on his 2007 tacoma with the filter on top.
I also realized after playing with his tacoma that I really want a tacoma with a 6 spd manual.

i also found out a guy in my town who also has a house in Socal has a Carrera GT, 918, 430, 911 Turbo S, SLS AMG, among other toys.
Fun day, did the normal day of work, then went to look at a friend of a friend's car that was dying when driving, sometimes blowing the ABS and PCM fuses. It only hesitated twice for me, pulled the ABS fuse and then never had an issue since then. Knock on wood.
Then kept on rolling a friend's Talon broke down at a gas station near my house. Went there, no fuel pressure. Pulled the pump, it had voltage at the connector, pump didn't run. Was under warranty, grabbed a new one. Still nothing. It's 10pm and fucking raining and we're pissing around and I notice the connector inside the tank is all melty and stuff from it's corrosion problems earlier in the year I assume.
Took the assembly to my house, pinned 2 female spades onto the new pump, drilled 2 wires through the plastic plug that normally is the connector, and then ran the wires out through there and slapped them onto the factory wires with female spades.
We were back in action. Except me. I'm wet and hungry and exhausted. What a day. Gonna do it all again tomorrow!!
On an unrelated note, I got an interesting 'job offer' today from a client who's fairly important in the world of important people it seems. He owns multiple houses across the country and needs essentially a 'property manager' to pay attention to and coordinate the auto fleets' maintenance there, the house repairs, grounds keeping, etc.. basically to travel to the houses and arrange maintenance and stuff, plus keep tabs on the staff that work at each specific house.
It was a 'think about this.. you'll be travelling a lot, but making a lot of money I promise you' kind of thing. Sounds like we're going to get lunch at some point to talk more. His business sounds interesting, and his partner is Japanese (squee!!) and the main location of his business is in Japan itself (doube squee).
So I'd be dipping out of my 12v installing career, which I am completely in love with, but getting into a supposedly very well paying job that would allow me to travel around and also get me in touch with real Japanese people.. in Japan! His business partner loves cars and my mind's gears are turning wondering if this could be the big break I need to somehow find myself eventually immersed into Japanese car culture.
That's my dream in the end. Like I mentioned a couple days ago, I want to be a 'go to' man for building cars of some style. My style, I suppose. And Japan is so whimsical to me.
Blah. It's been a long day and I'm doing blog-punch now. Anyone had a job that requires a significant amount of travel? Is it exhausting? This would be on private jets, and when those are tied up, some commercial. I'll explain more as I learn stuff. Money vs passion.. what wins?
Show me, we go through the same inspection and I'm interested.
i'll take a picture later, it's rusted on the outside panel and supposedly on the inside too.
it didn't look so bad before he started poking it though.
oh and also previous owner dented the shit out of that panel, probably why it rusted so bad, other side had no rust at all.

truly bad picture, the dark brown part and just above is where the hole is.
it was actually so bad that our jack kinda dented it when we wanted to change wheels.

I'd look into that cel....but cool truck though.

If it pops up 420, or 400 anything, you walk away. Can't register that shit in California and you don't want to fix a possible bad cat. Never buy anything with a CEL in california. It's worthless.
Went to a boat auction and got a clock from a 70s Celica. Got no idea what it's worth or who would want it. Guess It's replacing the broken JECO in my 240
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23414526/2015-05-30%2011.46.34.jpg[/t]
so i have a bit of a dilemma a buddy of mine just offered to sell me his 280z for $1200 but Ive been researching to do a sbc swap in my 87 mazda b2000 i even have the short block (albeit nothing else).
i really wanna do the swap but i friggin adore the old fairlady z....ack
A 280 for 1200 is probably not a good idea IMO

running and driving?
I've got my official FIA racing exam next Wednesday :v:
Pretty scary, the theory is also a shitload of crap about the environmental rules ect all in all.
How so? I've only had 1 incident on my bike, and 2 close calls. That's pretty good not only for a rider, but for a beginner rider.
You're following too close, and don't argue with me otherwise. Must be 3 seconds behind the leading car in perfect weather on a perfect road. That would give you 176 feet of distance to see and avoid the base of the cone, and 176 feet of emergency stopping distance (remember, bikes don't stop as fast as cars).
My kingdom for a Shoulder bolt.
Seriously what is wrong with autoparts stores in this town.
Lordco is intentionally rude to get people to go away to hide the fact they know nothing.
KMS pretty well told me they wont even look it up in their system.
Napa is not as bad but still dont know whats going on.
The Local hotrod shop turned me away because my car was a 4 door, yeah wouldnt even listen nevermind the fact i was looking for an engine part for a RB 440.
Canadiantire is okay for anything newer but they just dont carry enough stuff.
may just take the pulley from napa back and order online because those pulleys come with the proper bolt.
tires mounted, gonna go with a 215/45 instead of a 225/45 next time. They are 17x9 according to my measurements but the amount of tire strech looks way different than my other ones with the same specs and tires so im confused lol. Might see how they fit on the bmw for shits and giggles.

Your local hotrod shop knows better than to turn away potential customers based on doors in their car. Thats awful.
A lot of places lost a customer this week for being horrendously rude.
Luckily the Chrysler dealership pointed me in the direction of an industrial fastener supplier who can possibly get me the part.

3 seconds? The NC DMV motorcycle handbook said 2 is fine. I'll start following at 3.

Unless you really do not know what you are doing, have zero access to a scanner and cell phone, that is quite a stretch.
Things like the TPS, knock sensor, etc. have their own codes and tend to cost $30-80 depending on model/part brand.
Cats can be a pain. More expensive for sure, but there is a list of approved aftermarket cats published by the ARB.

It's not really a stretch. It's one of the reasons buying a used car is so tough in CA. a scanner will not really tell you the sensor is broken. You just replace the sensor and HOPE that it was just the sensor that was broken.
I've always been told 4 seconds, think it was in the Wa state DMV book too.
here in denmark they say 2 when taking car license.
In Columbus right now. Met the guy off Ohio Jdm. Real nice guy. Has some nice Civics. Got my core support. Be heading home tomorrow!
