I hate boost leaks especially ones I cant find
I hate boost leaks especially ones I cant find
Exhaust manifold is the prime place for that.
The sport model is p cool
Bull. You can't see out of the damn thing, the dash is about as convex as a pregnant woman, the whole design is a bloated sack of shit, and everything is designed to be thicker than my whole body.
Decided to get 3 or 4 of them framed. Though I have no idea which ones. I may post all of them here later for opinions.
If it makes you feel any better, Oregon is a 55mph(89kph) state. Only two of two interstate highways is allowed a 65mph speed limit of which is primarily just "rural" areas that are completely straight and flat for 20-30 miles.
ha ha, SD just passed legislature to raise the interstate speed limit to 80, meaning 85 is safe for the most part. Yeah, it was just a pretty looking layer of frosting on the bill that raised the tax on gas, but hey, since nobody pays attention to that shit, we have a slightly faster speed limit! yaaaaaaay!
Does anyone have an Alldata account? I think I need the wiring diagram for an '07 Dodge Charger Pursuit V8 (Or a Daytona diagram, I think they'll work), probably need the starter wiring diagram. As far as I can tell the Ignition is linked the PCM and the PCM is linked the throttle body, fuel rail, spark plugs, and fuel pump. We bypassed the police thing and it turned on about 5 times, then had the same problem again. edit: Threads like this drive me crazy http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150093 HOW DID YOU FIX IT Guardian? What do you know?!

Alrighty, who here has a bunch of experiance with 4-wheeler engines? Buddy has a E-Ton CXY(?) 150 that is acting like it's air starved. Exhaust is clear, spark arrestor is for the better part of what I could see non existent, new warlboro carb, new spark plug with proper gap, clean air filter because brand new... No matter what Ive done up till a point it would refuse to exhibit any kind of power. It's engine is not too dissimilar to a moped engine as it has an air vacuum nipple that's supposed to actuate the diaphragm for the fuel tank. (It only lets fuel flow if the engine is cranking or running) I've managed to get the engine to get more speed by running that vac nipp around to the air filter tube therefor giving it more air. The real issue is it has next to NO POWER till it gets moving, and I am for once fucking stumpped. I know cars and stuff but 4 wheels and an engine... v:v:v
That's part of the reason I had 3 70 in a 55 and a 80 in a 60 tickets... It's hilarious to see the out of staters blast down the interstates at 80-90, the state troopers love them.
That's weird. The only time I got pulled over in Oregon wasn't for doing 80 on the I-5 all the time, rather sitting in between lanes. Didn't even get a ticket, although that's probably because I'm Australian. Real nice driving over there though. Here we have to look out for hidden speed cameras in which they fine you for doing 4km/h over the limit.

What do you know?!
Did you check the PCM for corroded leads? I know in Volkswagen products, there is a similar module called the Komfort Control Module, the testing procedure is as follows. - Set ignition to Pos 2 - Stick positive lead of voltmeter into one socket of input plug at a time (these are always multi I/O lead modules) - Ground other lead of voltmeter against some chassis component, if something has a voltage but is weak, then you have an issue, if you get within 2 volts of batt voltage, you are fine. - Repeat process on the output pins off of the module with the input plugged in. - If there are multiple ones displaying the low voltage condition (which I can assure you this will be the case as someone who watched my parents get burned by a Dodge Magnum PCM harness failure), then you do have an input harness problem or contact corrosion. What you can do as a quick look over inspection is follow the harness as far as you can and see if you see any cracks, chipped wire coatings, or frayed wires. Of course you will want to attempt to soak/ clean all connections with a heavy duty electrical contact cleaner to rule that out. Remember to start simple, and then work up to the next steps if you haven't already. I'm sure you'll figure this one out in a short amount of time since you are trying to consult wiring diagrams instead of being like most people out there who buy module after module to no avail. OH also, if you can, crack open the case to the PCM and check the boards for corrosion. There shouldn't be any in there, but if there is than the PCM is much more difficult to rule out. You can 3 dozen boxes in a fucking door card in them.
4.5 dozen, but who counts
4.5 dozen, but who counts
True, they're all gone by the second hour of the grave yard shift anyway.

There's a few things we can check fairly easily at the ignition switch to verify if the ignition, and 'variable voltage' wire at working properly right there. *I checked back and saw your fuse #14 never powers on. I'll pull a powerflow diagram for that. If we have no power there, we're in rough shape, lol. As far as news for me... on Monday the plan is to go and check out a '95 red NSX that's near me. If all goes right I'll drive it home! If all goes wrong.. well.. I'll be sad, lol.

Which, I may need your help on again in the future, haha. All gauges are turning on, no CEL, all accessories work as far as I can tell. What was weird is about 5 days before this started to happen, the left driver side speaker stopped working on the stereo (factory installed). The fuel rail primes, throttle body actuates (not sure if it's supposed to), and I can hear the pump turning on. The starter cranks when jumping it with a relay with the cap off. I've bypassed the police thing, which let it turn on about 5 times, then the same problem again. And that's about where I'm at. In the video I don't see the PRNDL turning on, does it now? Can you see what the theft light is up to during that time? It's the round red one that isn't an actual symbol for anything. If you have the dash all taken apart, I've got a couple things to check out even without alldata, give these a shot; At the ignition switch connector; Pink/white- ign 12v Pink/green- starter 12v Purple/brown- variable voltage depending on where the key is.. 5v with key in acc, 3.5v key in ign, etc. Check that out. I made those numbers up, I forget what it should be exactly, but as long as it changes based on key position you should be OK. Then there's a 2nd plug on the ignition cyl that isn't the ignition harnes, it's got a white and white/orange twisted pair, a pink/white ign, and a ground and a 12v.. that's the plug for the Sentry Key module. If you can, and it's kind of difficult, get a pick and unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in. See if that brings it back to life... those SKREEM modules like to go bad, and when they do usually you can bring them back for a couple days by doing that. Sometimes. Double check that it is indeed fuse #10, the 5a PCM starter fuse. I'll pule a diagram for that, too.
Sounds good man! And yeah, the PRNDL thing died at about 90,000 miles. The light behind it turns on, but the screen doesn't. I tried taking it apart, but it's a large circuit board and I can't tell what needs re-soldered, planning on buying a new one but not sure if it's the dash that includes the engine on count like the police ones. Is it cool if I PM you tomorrow when I can work on it again? It's too dark out right now to get anything done, plus I need to change out the 9v on my voltage tester.
Ah ok, as long as that was dead previously. PM away!
Someone wrote "slow down stupid fuck" on my drivers side window. Probably the bitch in the prius who I had to swerve around because she was turning right into my lane without fucking looking. Saw it parked near me. So much temptation to carve "look where you're going you societal reject" in it with my knife. But I didn't. I should buy a gun.
I'm just going to grab my popcorn now.
Is that carb specifically for that motor? you might have to rejet it.
The carb that was on itcaused it to do thhe same thing the walboro carb is doing. The only real difference between the carbs is one of the holes drilled for an air or fuel channel(?) on the Chinese one had a bearing or something pluging it and the Japanese Superior Walbroro has a brass plug. The overall shape, design and parts, which are all interchangable are 99.9% to my eyes and test fitting the same.
I hope Cubeman gets his Hellcat but it turns out it was one of the ones they let Roadkill borrow.
I honestly wish it was the carb because I'd know more of what to do, but it's acting in a way I've never encountered, or vary rarely because I don't really remember if I did. It's a slide and butterfly throttle type: Butterfly opens and intake vacuum lifts slide throttle adding air and fuel. Convoluted ass garbage, might have to get a different carb entirely.

Sitting between lanes? What is the purpose of doing that? Our police are usually pretty decent, the ones who are on traffic patrol or patrol the shittier areas are usually shitbags though as well as any motorcycle cop.

Subconsciously was used to the lines on the right being right next to me, ended up drifting to the right so that the car was taking up half of two lanes. Thankfully the road was kinda dead at that time.
Salem bound, don't you live around there Slayer?
Holy shit FedEx is amazing. While DHL would usually take an extra day to get the stuff from Sydney to Newcastle, FedEx just sends them over the moment the things arrive. Which means my stuff arrived today on Friday instead of Monday next week. New spark plugs and set of K&N filters are here . Initially thought I had to delay until next weekend but it looks like I can start working on my car tomorrow.
By air starved, you mean it's running rich right? If you can't find a problem with the carburetor, I would start looking at the valve train. The engine needs to pull enough vacuum to suck in air. If it doesn't suck in the amount of air it's designed to, then the jets end up dumping in more fuel than is needed. It's like if your car is tuned to run boost, but the boost source breaks. You're still running the injectors as if you've got more air, but the additional air isn't being delivered. Since it's an N/A engine, it could be something with the cams or valves causing one of them to not stay open for the right duration, or the exhaust valve lagging open longer than it should. It's probably something else, but if everything checks out, then a valve train problem is most likely where it is. The best thing I ever did was join FFA in high school and compete on the small engines rebuilding team. Not only could I completely dis-assemble a 2.5hp Briggs and Stratton engine and re-assemble it to spec and running in ~45 minutes (35 minutes for tear down and prep, 10 minute or less re-assembly, fluid fill, and start), but I learned so much about how engines work and troubleshooting. Each competition required 2 engines per team. One engine was your speed build engine, and the other was given to the judges so they could sabotage it and you had to fix all of the problems. I ALWAYS removed the crank rope cover to make sure that the crank rope was tied as a first step. They would untie the crank rope knot in some competitions, and it was hilarious to see people pull the crank rope to see if it will turn over as their first step, and all of a sudden the entire rope come out. They would also remove one part, and you had to figure out which part it was, and go get it from the judges. Sometimes, it was a part you wouldn't even know was missing until you tried to run it. Fun times, and lots of knowledge learned. Funny (but embarrassing) story: We only had torque wrenches in ft-lb, and the connecting rod cap bolts required in-lb torque. So while waiting for the school to approve 2 new in-lb torque wrenches, we would tighten them without one. Well one of the bolts for the rod caps is also used to hold the oil dipper to the connecting rod (the oil dipper moves with the bottom of the connecting rod, and splashes oil all over the crankcase to keep everything lubricated). So I was doing a practice run, tightened the bolts on the connecting rod caps by feel as usual, finished assembly, and since I was doing a practice run, I put oil and gas in it and started it up. It ran fine. When I went to drain the oil, I knew something was wrong. The oil looked like it had glitter in it. I started to dis-assemble it again, took off the crank cover, and realized my mistake. I had not tightened the connecting rod bolt that held the oil dipper tight enough, and the oil dipper came loose and was hitting the aluminum shelf that sits below the cam shaft, tearing into it and bending the oil dipper and connecting rod bolt. Fortunately, the ag classes do a few weeks on engines where students get to play with small engines (that's where the ag teacher first told me I should join the small engines team), so I just went grab an oil dipper and connecting rod bolt from one of the student engines and used them in our competition engine. I was so embarrassed trying to explain to the ag teacher who was our coach why I had a quart of oil that was no longer good. I was more embarrassed about messing up than the oil.
