I'll ship you my tank lid afterwards.
Mhmm, these'll look good once the rest of the dip is cleaned off...
Once you become a good driver you take the responsibility to use proper tires for the right terrain
And if you're in a climate that snows 1/4 of the year religiously, you may see the value in buying $600 tires every year and mounting them. For most Americans, unless you're bordering our hat, we get snow 1 to 4 days a year, so all seasons are generally perfectly reliable for us.
If you need to buy a new set of tyres every year, there's something wrong with you.
Muscle cars definitely disagree with you.
I just got under my car to do an oil change, and for the first time since buying it 2 years ago noticed there is a rust hole the size of my fucking fist in my floor pan. Some smarty pants motherfucker cut out a square of the heat shielding right above the catalytic converter and who knows how many years of driving in the snow belt and intense heat ate my floorpan like it was a fruit roll-up.
new pads and rotors just got here boys. The hype is real.
just finished a 9hr day at work and 6hrs working on this shitbox. this summarizes my feelings. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HAmL7Nl.jpg[/t] same thing planned for tomorrow.
Changed the mother fucking alternator in a 2003 BMW X5. Fan, rad, shroud, hoses, idler, water pump all had to come out. And I learned that BMW uses reverse threads on the X5's fan clutch, to which I am thoroughly pissed off at. Then they decided that water cooling the alt was a good idea and the alts positive wire nut being plastic 17mm was also needed. Fuck that shit. But to be fair it was not super hard to work on just alot of really bad ideas used in design. Then it rain and soaked me while running to my car and something happened and now my oil light is being a shit and is on-pulsing, like it has low pressure when high-ish in RPMs and off at idle. Glad I put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in, I KNEW that god damn light was gonna be an issue...

That sounds like something satire akin to muffler bearings and blinker fluid.
I thought that was a joke. :v:
Where do you see that the alt is water cooled? Sounds like the waterpump just needs to be removed for clearance. I wouldn't doubt it from those crazy Germans though. Tomorrow I head down to Indianapolis after work!! Slamology is goin on.. carshow/audio show. Should be cool, I hope. I changed the oil in my Buick and checked the suspension out... haven't driven it at all yet this year, but it's going to be our road trip car to get there. The corollabortion just seemed too boring, lol. Going to insure it and add towing, just incase, and see where the road takes us! Anyone else near Indy going?
new pads and rotors just got here boys. The hype is real.
cute baby brake pads on the left
Yeah what's up with those? They look like they belong on a golf cart.
the read pads on the crown vic are pretty baby sized too

http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/6-range-rover-mark-iii-l322/47776-real-reason-bmw-engines-have-water-cooled-alternators.html These rangerover dudes say they're pretty pricey, someone paid "$1867" for parts and labor LOL
I think GM started using water cooled alts on some vehicles recently, or has in the past at least.
It's dumb, and the Range Rover that uses the X5's 4.4 engine had the sealed alternator, or rather/ generator because it's varies in out put from 90 amp at idle and 150 at speed and load, for the reason of wading through deep water. Well no one in their right mind is gonna go trail blazing in an X5 now are they? [sp]unless they are rich cunts[/sp] According to a post on that forum those water cooled generators fail more often then standard air cooled alternators, to which I say HA and HA HA because my alternator is OEM@151K+ miles and going strong. BMW = Over engineering it seems.
Woah, A31 Cefiro with RB25DET for $5.1k equivalent. From what I've seen from the photos, most likely a drift car.
Wow, that makes my audi look like a piece of cake. I finally installed both my cb antennas, grounded them, installed radio and turned her on! I did alittle calibrating aaaaaand I have a SWR reading of 3. Great. Plus I can not hear anything over the truck running because of ignition leakage... I guess it time to run around town and gather up some more parts to complete this build...
dad got a 330ix diesel today, wasn't even as fast as my old e30 pfff. probably not gonna keep it though because taxes and stuff.

On a scale of are-you-high to 10, how much would you recommend a Rustoleum paint job if I'm a poor college student that can't afford a decent paint job for his really shitty looking paint otherwise?
I'd do it. Just do proper prep and cut and buff afterwards.
Do you have any recommended guides for a first-timer?
What year? Aren't iX's all wheel drive?
They are. And powered by petrol engines.
