What a beast: R.I.P Amazing cars.
The older cars were pretty much tanks on wheels, thats why they lasted so long.
They certainly looked alot cooler. but if they were overall better? I don't think so. Look at this bitch, it's awesome. [img_thumb]http://hiddenleaves.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/1977-pontiac-firebird_0011.jpg[/img_thumb]
Firebird and trans am, best cars ever
Dodge Chargers and Firebirds, awesome shit.
all the american cars
The best golf imo
Old cars had the best stylings, best sounds, and above all, the best smells. Every car from the 60's-70's i have been in, smell the same. It's a hard to describe smell, but it makes me feel oh so nostalgic. Especially my truck. My truck is a 1972 GMC Truck, a shortbed at that. That is a rare combination. Pics: I grew up in these trucks. My grandpa had 2 of them, except one was a Chevy, the other a GMC (which i own now)
They looked a lot better but where dangerous and just didn't have the performance.
I have a bizarre love of 80s cars. Corvette: DeLorean (:flashfap:) : the Civic: the Rabbit: yes, even the Yugo: No idea why.

Looked better, but were unsafe, unreliable and rather featureless compared to today's cars. If I could have a 40's-60's era car with Modern features with the old look, and muscly engine sound. I'd fucking love the thing.
I just get an orgasm every time I see a Chevy Bel Air rolling down the street, covered in light G.I. Blue paint.

Old cars are beautifull compared to modern cars, back then they put alot more effort in details if you ask me. Safety however...
Unreliable? Haha. Unsafe? Oh hell yes.
I'm not talking about the era's I mentioned. I'm talking pre-50's cars, or French cars before 99. What the fuck, hand cranks in the 70's but their cars had AC in the 50's...
Wow, a lot of people here seem to be inclined toward older cars. I like cars such as BMW's, Mercedes, and Audi's, and similar car brands. But it seems like new cars get more and more absurd designs every year. Seriously, what the fuck is this piece of shit:
That is the Nissan Cube, it's a brilliant car.
back then they put a lot more effort in details if you ask me.
That is definitely true. The 'usual' details & styling back then are the type you'd be paying out the ass for now.
I love these styles of car:
:flashfap: Looked better, performed worse. My modern-ish Ford sedan has an engine that's only four cylinders and 2 liters, but it out-performs an old AMC Gremlin with six cylinders and 4 liters.
Unreliable? Haha.
They required more maintenance and fluid checks. My dad would buy AMC Gremlins and Ramblers and they'd fall apart in a couple years, and he'd buy another used one.

Old cars + new motors.
it was all about the british sports coupe's that dominated during the 1960-1980 period. I own a GT6, and that was a poor mans spitfire, very cheap, even for its day (worth about 11,000 in todays money. I mean, for a cheap car, it looks incredible.
