I like to stick to one weapon for the whole game. I get too attatched to these things.
When i finished a game,i started a new one. Then, when i reached save point before boss battle,i saved on different files, trying to make "Boss battle collection" save datas
I'll always try to crouch jump in games, even if the game does not allow for it. So whenever I try to jump in game I instinctively try to crouch jump.
I always go for sniper/marksman class and stand on the farthest corners of maps to try and miserably fail to shoot enemies.
I compulsively spam voice commands if they're available.
When people don't reload in games I get triggered because I reload a lot like you have a shot gun, you should be reloading that constantly
I fiddle with the settings for sometimes more than an hour on PC games when I first get them Same goes for character customization
If there's a large amount of weapons in a game, I'll scroll through them a specific amount of times or go to specific ones for absolutely no reason and its almost compulsive. It's really odd because I don't have OCD at all. Its just with weapons in games I tend to find myself scrolling to specific ones certain numbers of times, or going back and forth. This was especially worsened in games like HL2 where scrolling through makes a clicking sound.
If there's a weapon quickswitch and I'm not busy in a fight or something, I usually switch between weapons constantly. Strangely it's only satisfying if it's on the keyboard for me. If I switch weapons by scrolling the mouse wheel then I don't get the same pleasure out of it. It's odd.
I tend to duck my head in real life if I crouch in game.
i tend to get really into character when i play games while high as a kite. it made my last playthrough of wasteland 2 really immersive and my last playthrough of fallout 4 abysmal. i also think out loud if someone is watching me play.
I get a good distance into games and become unhappy with my build or see a cool weapon/skill for a different build and decide to start a new character. Ad infinitum. I have 8 Dark Souls 3, Fallout 4, and Demon's Souls characters and I've beaten the games on none of them.
quicksave and jump off a ledge and die
If the game has ragdoll physics,i will save game then jump off from the highest building/mountain just to see my character tumbling down
One real weird habit I won't understand is people playing Counter-Strike and constantly switching weapons back-and-forth, even when there might be a potential enemy nearby.
In every single RPG I always name my character Frank.
I search every nook and cranny to not miss anything. This occasionally makes replayable games pointless to play again because I already found all alternate paths/solutions.
ive always made it priority to close doors after i go through them, or if an npc goes through them for some reason i just cant stand an open door. games that dont let me close doors seriously bug the everliving shit out of me. like i used to explore all the vaults in fallout games and anytime i left id make sure all the doors were closed after i went through them ive even had instances where ill open the door, and then close it again to make sure
I am also guilty of the "take everything not nailed down" thing. It's the reason why I haven't played STALKER again. Well, that and it being fucking scary every now and then. I found so many weapons that I wanted to take them all to sell them. I even loaded a corpse full of them, planing to carry the corpse all the way to the trader to sell it all. The plan obviously didn't work though, but not for lack of trial, and more because it wouldn't let me carry a body to another load screen. You'll find tons of open doors at times, and that could be a bad thing, seeing how an open door can tell a story of plundering, and a closed one could tell a story of murder.
Playing STALKER turned me into a hoarder, funny enough. Before when I played games like Fallout I didn't really care too much about gathering items beyond cool weapons and healing, but after I'm taking almost everything that's remotely feasible. Speaking of STALKER, whenever I play CoC and starting out a new character, if I play as a Duty member I'll always pretend I'm some sort of warden or mutant hunter and hang around the Bar with a double barrel looking for dogs or bloodsuckers to shoot. The TOZs are actually really hard hitting and a great investment on saving money on ammo, and it really makes you get better with your aim. in other games I visibly cringe when I know I'm about to get hit with a melee attack.
quicksave and jump off a ledge and die
If the game puts me near a very precarious ledge I have to try and sprint at/jump over to see if there is an invisible wall or not.
If a game has cooking and food I will try my hardest to see to it that I prepare and eat things I would actually eat or as close to it with what the game provides. It gets a bit odd in cases. For an example, in Anarchy Online after a series of random missions I'll go buy a Double Bronto Burger With Cheese(essentially a Big Mac) and either not cola or not orange. Or a can of iced coffee and a muffin. Food in Anarchy Online is useless. You can eat it but it does nothing. It's for hold in your hand for RP purposes. Yet I still treat myself like I would IRL.
When a game has an ''upgrade skills with points'' system like in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the Dishonored series, you can make a surefire bet that I will always hoard about 15 of them before even considering upgrading anything since I have always the feeling of getting screwed out of something if I don't have a certain skill at a certain time where you could get something with that skill. If I run in such a case in those games, I could just easily put in the points for the skill instead of lambasting my choice to have put in the precious points into the wrong tiny skill three hours prior.
Is the game has skill tree system (especally when they branching),i always trying to fill them all Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (depend on the game)
Someone's probably already mentioned this, but whenever I'm playing a game that allows multiple saves (e.g. Black Mesa and Quake), I tend to make a shit ton of save files so that I can backtrack and do everything right with the least amount of health and ammo lost.
In Bioshock I compulsively follow the Little Sisters (all saved, thank you very much) back to their hiding spots in the wall, murdering everything that gets in their way; even though they're perfectly safe on their own.
Whenever a game has a cool character creator like APB, Saints Row 4, and Black Desert, I usually just fuck around with the character creator itself and never go beyond that to the actual game.
I have a habit of closing doors or put stuff behind me so that things can't ambush me. This is especially true for horror games like penumbra.
In skyrim, when the enemies beg for mercy,i actually let them go. Of course they end up as corpse because they trying to attack me again.
While playing games like Halo, I usually make a habit of destroying unoccupied vehicles.
