Kommie and I are going in on an army together :buddy: Mine is the Imperial Veran Army (IVA - pronounced EEVAH) He hasn't named his yet, but it'll basically be the same as my army but with different colours. Most likely blue or yellow. He'll play the part of the Separatists :3: This is what is done so far. Normal infantry weapon is a Charge Cartridge based Plasma Rifle that can fire 10 shots before having to be reloaded. The bigger soldier is a "Charge Trooper" which uses the equivalent of a Rocket Launcher. A charge cannon with about the same power as an RPG which takes 2 turns to charge, powered by a miniature reactor on the back. Then there's the workers specifically for games like civ. [editline]07:54PM[/editline] And yes it's totally based off Gone with the Blast Wave :v:
So basically you made a Gone with the Blastwave army, and now he is going to make the yellow or blu faction against you?
No :v: What was made was an army for a faction I use pretty much everywhere based on GWTBW for appearance. Originally I was going to use Helghast, but Kommie already had those, so I looked at the other kickass gas-mask using army.
Way to steal from GWTBW.
Hey if it's okay to base an army off an endangered species it's okay to base an army off a webcomic :v:
An endangered species isn't the product of someone's imagination and hard work. Endangered species also aren't protected under copyright laws.
lolz [editline]02:16AM[/editline] They will always be the Reds, and if I am in a match against you, my manz will call you the Reds.
That's fine. They're communists anyway :v: Also: It's pixel art dude. Copyrights only get involved if you're making money off of it. Kommie hasn't been sued for his Helghast sprites and that's from a bigass company. If they don't care, some swedish comic artist that barely updates isn't going to either :v: [editline]09:27PM[/editline] Finnish my bad
I really don't care, just keeping myself busy with fucking with you guys v:v:v Damn you Telepethi, why must they be communists?!?! :argh: You should change them enough to not resemble the reds, so I can make the Reds, Blues, Yellows, and Greens and we can have a new version of Color Wars.
No :colbert: If you ask nicely though Kommie and I might let you use them as a third faction of Separatists from the Separatists though :v: Also I looked it up, Gone with the Blast Wave isn't copyrighted anymore. His copyright expired in 2007 so it's free to use now.
Back. Oh lolz
I don't think we should, Kommie. He DID get you banned :v:
He did, but he helped make the be EA
Methinks two sides is enough, don't you? :v: Also get on/reply to me on steam :buddy:
I got him banned?
Yeah look at his moderation log. I think he's the ONLY person that got banned for that spatfest we had about Vain the other day. And it's YOUR fault! You monster! :derp:
It's always under copyright. Just because he hasn't updated his website doesn't mean it is no longer under copyright protection. You don't have to apply for it or file something to get a copyright, anything made orignal by you can be copyrighted by you. There are no limitations really except after people have been dad for X amount of years their works are released form copyright protection for the public.
Actually, I just looked it up. He apparently got a small copyright, and they DO expire. There's a few questions about it on the official copyright FAQ. Once they do expire they're public use. He's updated his website a lot since 2007. It's not that he hasn't updated the copyright it's just expired. It IS only a webcomic. Besides, it's only roughly based on their appearance. Nowhere near enough to get remotely miffed about.
Telepethi, I like how you are bitching about Kommrad not being on steam, but are ignoring my invite :argh:
He has 45 years at minimum before his copyright expires. Just looked it up. http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.pdf
Huh, what? You sent me an invite? I didn't see it. It doesn't like, make a noise or anything. Also: Ty, then why does it say on his website "Copyright 2005-2007"
"In general, copyright registration is a legal formality intended to make a public record of the basic facts of a particular copyright. However, registration is not a condition of copyright protection." "For works published on or before December 31, 2002, the term of copyright will not expire before December 31, 2047." [editline]03:28AM[/editline]
Huh, what? You sent me an invite? I didn't see it. It doesn't like, make a noise or anything. Also: Ty, then why does it say on his website "Copyright 2005-2007"
Ever noticed that in Blizzards game Starcraft teh copyright is also outdated there? It is a formality. Just stop trying to argue, you are wrong. :D
Hah. If anyone should stop it's you. It doesn't even matter. Saying I'm breaching his copyright for a 24 pixel tall sprite that resembles a soldier he drew in his comic, which he admits himself rips material from a lot of other things, is like saying I'm breaching Microsoft's copyright on Windows for making an operating system with a built in drawing program.
My newest guys.
oh no Tyanet, you're basing your officer off of Romantically Apocalyptic! That's copyrighted! You're breaking the copyright! :byodood:
Actually I never accused you of breaching copyright. I am just putting you straight so you understand copyright laws, your previous outlook was totally ignorant. I don't give a fuck about your soldiers looking like GWTBW.
Sup y'all! I think I might make a return :D It's just, well, I have no idea's to start me off!
Hi seymour :D How ya been?
Oh hey, welcome back.
:D Not bad, not bad at all. Yourself? I'm just digging through all my old stuff.. I forgot I'd made half of it!! :P Any new ideas? I was thinking Lego because I just saw a random Lego picture but I have a feeling it may have already been done.
