Sell it man.
Sell it
On second thought, do what this guy said and then use the money you get from it to pay off the library.
How thick is it? Make a hollowed out book to hide things, drugs, money, gun etc. Always wanted to make a hollowed out book.
I don't want to damage a book in good condition that is probably more than twice the age you are.
Return it. There are always limits on how much you can be forced to pay. Furthermore given how old the book is, the library may simply appreciate having the book returned. It's also entirely possible that the system was computerized in the past 50 years and the library has long since lost track of who had the book anyways.
When he was in junior high my older brother borrowed a book about Medieval castles for a project in school and never returned it We have since moved to a city five hours away (as the car drives) and 10-15 years have passed. Next time I'm in Saskatoon I'll try to remember to return it to whatever library it came from.
Quick, move to another country!
He'll be on America's most wanted for sure, I told the FBI about his crimes.
Return it, they'll just laugh with you and not charge you.
How, out of all of us, did you get gold member?
Yeah If you returned it, it would only be like $93
He'll be on America's most wanted for sure, I told the FBI about his crimes. How, out of all of us, did you get gold member?
2 years and 2000+ posts gets you gold now.
Return it. Have someone record you while you're returning it. Post Results.

This HAS been seen before. An anonymous person returned two library books which were kept for approx. the same time as the book mentioned in the OP. Whether or not OP is lying, I'm unsure.
Lost library books get removed from records every few years, its way too much effort to keep up with every book that's ever been lost. Also as long as you don't give them a library card they can't charge you.
I have a book from my grade 2 teacher's class room... I'm gonna bring it back to her.
He'll be on America's most wanted for sure, I told the FBI about his crimes. How, out of all of us, did you get gold member?
2000 posts :downs:
Don't worry - its not as bad as George Washington: http://consumerist.com/2010/04/george-washington-owes-300k-for-overdue-library-books.html
Sell it.
Keep it, darn it. Also, look through your attic for more 'overdue reminders'... AND POST PICS.
Ive got a book borrowed from uni. It was due 6months 23 days ago I owe £50 Im not paying
I don't know how they do it in wherever you are from, but where I live if you have ANY outstanding charges you can't graduate which means no degree until you pay. So anything such as, over due library books, parking tickets on campus, and anything else that might give you a fee.
Keep it then sell it.
i never returned this one book that was about the making of movies. it was such a interesting read i forgot to return it. And it was from my old school so... I got the book a week before school ended and the librarians left a day before.
I stole about 50 comics from the local library as revenge to the owner who would cut me and my brother off the computer for no reason.
It's a history book published in 1959 about the middle ages, but it has been borrowed from the Grangemouth Victoria Public library since May. (I live in Edinburgh) I found it in the attic and read it thoroughly, quite a good read actually. (The Middle Ages, 395 to 1500) However it was meant to be only borrowed for 2 weeks before returning and there is a fine of half a penny every day the book is retained beyond that date. The even bigger problem is that the book was borrowed on May the 4th, 1959. So I have a large problem here guys, if I return it I might get a hefty fine. However it is still in very good quality despite being over half a century old. What do I do then chaps?
Just do what i did, scan it, and then return it. Oh wait it's 50 years overdue... Keep it, they won't know :ninja:
