Wasen't the protagonist "taken advantage of" from the "rear entrance" while in prison?
Great movie.
If you like seeing redemption, very sly, covert redemption then this movie is for you. :v:
thats right rate me dumb, for I have my own opinion.
:hurr:
You have a bad opinion for the highest rated movie of all time. Rethink your movies.

Yeah, but the gang's leader ended up getting what was coming to him if I remember right.
He chief of security beats him so hard he "has to eat everything through a straw".
Prison dramas are all about drawing the audience into the reality of the "pen", making them believe it and forcing them to ask themselves if they could survive the horror. In the days when Cool Hand Luke was made, the worst you could see cons endure was a bit of trench digging, some cruel guards with sunglasses and the occasional hard-boiled egg eating contest. But in The Shawshank Redemption Tim Robbins is cornered by a gang called the Sisters and forced to give blowjobs and bums to some fairly unappealing individuals. That's going to make you want to escape pretty badly, but poor Tim is in the slammer for nineteen years with only his spoon for company - the ultimate young man's nightmare.
I'm not sure if a film's reputation should be built on the audience's fear of enforced sodomy, so it's thumbs down for The Shawshank Redemption.
This man speaks the truth.

yeah, the novella is called Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, which was originally published in a collection of stories called Different Seasons.
This is number one on some movie list I look at from time to time.
