• Racism Outside of the Human World? - Pondering about Inter-Equine Relations

Well, I've had the same questions, and I also wonder... If an american cat met a russian cat - would they understand eachother?
The only type of "racism" i can think of amongst animals are Albino animals. I don't think its really a type of racism, but more like a way to protect themselves from becoming prey to their predators. Albinos to other animals are glowing targets to predators, so they are ignored or even killed. Also, being Albino makes it harder for the animal to hunt, because they are easier to see.
horses lmao
Having grown up around horses, I can safely say yes, horses are "racist." I owned a horse that tried to kill a donkey before. She went apeshit at the sight of one. Other horses can and will do the same. But also try to remember that Donkeys are not the same species as horses; they look, sound, and smell different from horses. In stead, did you know that horses can be biased towards other horses based on coat color and patterns? Pure white horses are often shunned from a herd of horses, and visa versa with darkly colored horses. Horses have a very odd "buddy" system in the herd, where one horse hangs around mainly with one other horse--this is why it's a bad idea to own an odd number of horses, one will get left out and become depressed. This buddying almost always occurs with horses that have similar coat patterns if there is a choice.
One of the best posts in this thread! Thanks
I was like when I saw the title. When I read it I was like But seriously some animals I guess could show signs of racism but it is really nothing to get excited about.
Animals and all that don't discriminate in ways we do, in fact we created it too be honest. Their world is about survival of the fittest. Usually the best and strongest get to mate.
animals can certainly be racist, or at the very least, have discrimination towards one another did you know that chimpanzees will form groups/tribes and attack chimps from other groups that intrude upon their territory? it's true.

OP doesn't know what racism is.
cool cats of facepunch get all the fun
I don't think horses and donkeys think like humans, so they probably don't have prejudices, because that's a human trait. There's probably an equine equivalent of it. Also, I'm pretty sure, to the eye of most animals, there are no species, living things or objects, everything else in the world is just another "thing" to it.
Most animals aren't even self-aware. Pretty sure they're not racist.
OP made me feel like it was 1998.
OP doesn't know what racism is.
I put racism in quotation marks because I know it's not exactly racism. DID I MISS A FEW? CAUSE HEAVEN FORBID IF I DID - PEOPLE MIGHT THINK I DON'T KNOW WHAT RACISM IS!
