Are any of you guys big on psychology or medicine or ethics or whatever? Now, hypothetically speaking, let's say that there was an individual who used to habitually engage in certain behaviors. He has since learned that said behaviors are bad, potentially causing long term irreversible psychological and possibly physical damage to this individual. However, engaging in these behaviors also made the individual feel pleasure, or at least merely stop feeling pain, in the short term. Given all of this, hypno-theoretically here, would it be better for the individual to restrict these behaviors, thus leading to a more repressed and socially acceptable but ultimately joyless lifestyle, and thus hate himself for it, or would it be better for the individual to indulge in these behaviors, feeling some modicum of pleasure but still lucid enough to know that, ultimately, these behaviors are destructive, and thus hate himself for it?

We had fun times, but we had to run to the movie theater to catch Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and we ended up arguing after we missed the first 15 minutes of it. She wanted to catch a later showing, but I had to convince her that waiting 2 hours to make up for 15 minutes wasn't worth it. I ended up constantly dozing off during the movie :v:
oh my god. i was so tired that night. but i loved that movie ^__^ remember those two gay guys behind us talking? i was wondering why two 30 year old men went to go see that movie????
personally, i think others wellbeing is worth more than my own joy
Oh wow, that's a much better way to phrase it than what I came up with. Which is more important, your own joy, or your own wellbeing?
That test seems to be F no matter what answers I put in
okay, now it works
okay, now it works
I've done it like 8 times and it still gives me F.
for anyone whos seen it, is it weird that i knew what both twists were gonna be in the usual suspects like half of the way through
for anyone whos seen it, is it weird that i knew what both twists were gonna be in the usual suspects like half of the way through
Nah, if your perception is high enough, it's reasonable. Just all depends on what you picked for your SPECIAL attributes at the beginning of your life.

Or they just liked the book/movie.

I'm a horrible person. For an assignment in my illustration class, I gruesomely disfigured the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Out of the 21 avatars that I made and have used/will use some day, 15 are GotG related and 10 of those are Rocket related. I think I have a problem.
I guess it's about time to take a break from Numidium
I just won a $10 League card in a Twitch stream. Now I just need a new PC so I can play again...
If someone pronounces Van Gogh's surname as "Goff," then they deserve to be labeled "Pretentious Twat for Life." And don't come to me with any bullshit about how that's the proper way to say it, yeah, maybe it is, if you're a stuck-up douchebag. "Goff" is incorrect, as Van Gogh was Dutch, and not some gaudy, ignorant Brit.
I'm not being funny but that's literally how everyone pronounces it here.
I've nothing personal against the British/English at all, but I just don't understand why anyone would think it's pronounced "Goff." It's not even English for Christ's sake! And here I am, getting mad over something that isn't serious at all.

I went out and bought a port months ago for no reason! I WANT TO STRANGLE MYSELF
