So, I did something I feel sort of bad about. Which is silly, since I'm an adult and know I needed to do it. Anyway - Our backyard has had a problem with rats for some time - They always find ways in despite all the mesh fencing we put down, and they keep finding places to build nests despite our efforts to remove them. We tried leaving poison around but they've not taken the bait. Anyway, I was moving some rocks around to check for nests today and found one - A clump of dried grass, miscellaneous fluff and wrappers. I picked it up and dropped it in an empty plastic bag, and out tumbled five newborn mice. The parent was nowhere in sight. They had trouble righting themselves and could barely walk, their eyes were tightly shut - Couldn't have been more than a day or two old. Looking back now, I should've grabbed a boulder and crushed them - It'd have been quick, at least. Instead, I took the bag out to the woods across the street, pulled them out one by one and set them down there.
The reason I feel guilty is because
1) I couldn't just let them go and let the nest remain, they were ruining the flowers and vegetables my mother had planted and
2) I feel that without their parent there to care for them, I've doomed them to a slow and more cruel death in those woods.

-make sure in your browser plugins that the "PepperFlash" flash player is disabled and the system flash player is enabled
-on the video then right click, go to settings, and turn on hardware acceleration

ok now how do I do all 3 of those things
If you've opted into the html5 player i think the only way to go back to flash is to use something like the aforementioned magic actions for youtube. You can use only that one feature if you want though it does have some other stuff that's cool. But I don't think you can opt out of html5 through youtube anymore. I think youtube center also has a "force flash player" option but I'm not too fond of that extension
To disable pepperflash go to chrome://plugins and you should see under Adobe Flash Player either one plugin or two. If you have one, see if it says PepperFlash in the location and if it does disable it, if it doesn't you don't have PepperFlash installed. The other plugin's location should be like Windows\blahblah, that's the system wide plugin. If you don't have a plugin that's located in the Windows folder then download the latest flash player from the adobe site. I don't know how to access plugins from Firefox but it's probably not too different.
And then the hardware acceleration is just right clicking on the youtube player, going to settings, then the display tab and making sure hardware acceleration is checked
ok well I think I have html5 player but I had that extension before and don't like it. I disabled Pepperflash and am currently updating flash but my right click on a youtube vid has no option for settings. (it's copy url, embed code, debug, stats for nerds, and about html5 player. maybe not there in html5. Searched the youtube setting as well and can't find hardware acceleration so oh well.
If I have to see this fucking iPhone5s commercial one more time, I'mma slit some throats.
