I had a dream last night about someone I used to know and love a year ago and in that dream I was dating her. I don't know why, but this dream is compelling me to stop saying "I'll wait for someone to come" and is making me actually want to get out there are meet girls. The problem is I don't have the courage. I've been told lots of things such as "just do it" but there has to be an aid or something to make it easier. I have severe social anxiety and this will be one of the hardest things in my life. And yes I do take medication for it.
So the weirdest thing happened today, I got a random note on my locker by some random girl asking me to text her, strange coincidence?

Man I just finished Spec Ops: The Line and what a fucking game. Works both as a great character study and as a critique and satire of modern shooters.

[sp]Like that one billboard with the main character's supervising officer or something that's dead.[/sp]
It even gets really political and questions US Army morals. Man I wish more games were as smart as this. I do feel like the standard for what qualifies as "good" is stupidly low in video games. [sp]Like that one billboard with the main character's supervising officer or something that's dead.[/sp]
Yeah I caught on quick to that kinda stuff (didnt notice that though) and I love it for it. Despite being average from an action point of view (you could argue this is deliberate and at parts I definitely think it is but not all the time) I think this is gonna be one of my favourite games just for being so damn immersive and well crafted and subversive. Plus it's essentially a retelling of Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now which is in no way a bad thing considering they handled the original text really well. [editline]12th May 2014[/editline] definitely one of the most ballsy games I've ever played.
Every time I get the tiniest bit ill my sinuses go crazy and now I need a whole box of tissues for tonight, worst thing about this is that I know I'll have to go into college tomorrow seeing as I have A2 exams soon but I'll feel like shite all day

But yeah, I never played it, but still looks damn good in a way people don't pay attention to *action* games these days. I loved how the trailers and all that completely ignored the "psychotic" side, almost as if the advertising for the game was part of his illusion.
I've not seen any of the marketing but I heard that stuff yeah. Reminds me of Spring Breakers last year. A film that marketed itself as a teen movie akin to Project X but in reality was at least in part a critique, but also just totally different and I'd call it an arthouse film (and a fucking great one at that)- it used marketing to lure people in and make them question it. A lot of people hated it because it wasn't fun and stuff. But that's the point. Spec Ops isn't fun either, and if you go in expecting a CoD clone you will hate the game. But that's the point. Which also reminds me of the film Funny Games (one of my favourites of all time), which does a similar thing, except with the home invasion horror genre. It plays on the tropes and cliches a huge amount, only it really is not fun. Shooters are fun and slasher films are fun. Spec Ops and Funny Games are not fun and they're clearly playing it in a different way to point it out and make you question your own morality and why you play/watch these things (Gaspar Noe who did Irreversible, a film infamous for its 9 minute unflinching rape scene, said something relevant- that it's not him that's the sicko. he's not glorifying rape or pretending it doesn't happen or anything. He's showing it how it is. Films like Saw etc are the ones that glorify murder and death and gore, and how enjoying those but hating Irreversible is very morally questionable. Which I agree with.). They make you the bad guy, you're involved in the murder, the gore, the genocide of nameless squads... Funny Games breaks the fourth wall over and over and Spec Ops touches on it in a more subtle way but with similar intent. To make you the person doing all this bad shit. There's a bit where you're told, "you could have just turned around and went home" or something similar. He's not talking to Walker, the protagonist. He's talking to you. he's saying, you can't complain about this. It's your fault. You're doing this. Don't like it? Stop playing. It's your own twisted enjoyment that's causing this to happen. Dubai would have been fine if you never played this game. The PTSD is interesting for sure but to me the best aspect of the game is this critique of modern gaming and modern gaming audiences, as well as the game working on a meta level.

Thinking of getting Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, but I never played any of the Tex Murphy series. Would I need to have played them to get anything out of it?
how much
[T]http://i.imgur.com/YpYmBUs.jpg[/T] Was thinking along the lines of $500-$600 US, it's in great shape, strings are still pretty new. The only issue with it was that it was cracked at the top of the neck before I was given it, but it was professionally repaired, so it's smooth and you can barely tell it ever had anything wrong with it. Deluxe gig bag in picture comes with it.
