Okay what's pissing me off to no end here is I can not find the scene where Starlord's mask comes off in any of the trailers.
Best I can record is this one, which is from the recent trailer but is missing the first half second from the gif I'm working with:

This is as good as I can make it - and this is with half the frames gone, reduced to 64 colors and 32% Lossy.

People take Dr Who too seriously, it's a campy sci-fi show for kids basically and in a way the fans ruined the show by themselves as they argued over every plot point and convincing Moffat that they needed "serious" story lines.
Red Dwarf is great because it makes no mistake about itself, it's stupid and all the better for it.
