It's heavily stunting collaboration because there are rappers out there who refuse to work with other openly gay artists, gay rappers are criminally ignored by the media and by the culture, rappers like DMX openly dismissing people for being gay. You obviously don't know much about the culture if you're denying that the homophobia is a crippling issue.

Hip Hop is still being crippled by discrimination on a diverse scale: white artists "earning" plaudits for making one hit single, LGBT artists having their work erased by people like Macklemore who just thought they were gay that one time in school, the industry attempting to stamp their own view onto an entire culture, exploitation and appropriation of elements from the culture around the genre. You can look at the genre and it's issues like someone with a mental illness, they might look well from an outside perspective but there's something wrong inside.
