I wouldn't go down the laptop route, but if she ever changes her mind and decides to get a PC, try using the Radeon 7770. Heard it runs Skyrim decently at all settings maxxed out.
the Radeon 7770 is my favourite of the personal computers
i prefer the geforce fx 5800 ultra
