I went screw it and figured why not create an ArrayList containing Piece, a class I have that holds x and y values based on the board and holds team ID and if it is a King.

So when I render this whole thing, first it'll render a static image aka the board, then it'll loop through the ArrayList and calculate where the pieces will be and render the appropriate sprite that's given in the jar in a resource folder.

Gotta love the rubber duck debugging technique.
