You're acting like it's only the US that faces those issues though. I can guarantee you that conditions are barely better in Europe.
You're right, I barely seen news in foreign countries.
Still, it'd be a pretty cool world to live in if we get rid of all these scandals and had decent politicians for once.
I need help remembering a movie. All I remember is it was set on a spaceship. The characters were infected with some kind of alien virus or something that made them murderous. If the person was cold, it surpressed the virus. It got on the ship from one of the old space probes (Voyager or something, can't remember which) that had been refitted with some alien device that pulsed the infection. At the end of the movie, they set the ship's external lights to red and yellow for biohazard and start flying towards the sun.
Finally found it, Alien Cargo

scandals are the least of americas problems
one of the main problems for america is that things that are usually paid for by the government in more developed countries arent paid for here. we have a wider gap between the rich and the poor
these problems are very evident in my day to day life since im part of a working class family
I've seen the news, the unemployment rate, all these scandals, I have enough to form myself my own opinion.
An opinion which reeks of 13 years of life experience. If you think it's any better in [insert country], I'm sorry to inform you that it's not.
I've seen the news, the unemployment rate, all these scandals, I have enough to form myself my own opinion.
Yeah but the news relies on fear mongering and sensationalism. You'll find better and more honest news even here over watching it on TV. And no, you don't. You don't have enough for your own opinion until you experience these things for yourself. Until you experience not having enough money for proper meals and needing to survive off of saltines and canned peaches for weeks on end. Until your dad gets fired for a stupid reason at the worst possible time and not being able to find your own job to help support your family.
Far be it from me to dictate what you've been through in your life but I honestly don't think you have been through enough to have an honest opinion past anything you've gotten off TV or your family.

Holy shit, that got really depressing for a second there, sorry everybody.

this is a post that exists on the cyberweb
swog please go away
I don't think everything is terrible at 13.
I think a lot of stuff is pretty good in the world, we're on the track to curing malaria, the world is slowly but surely becoming a more accepting place, and science is doing some awesome shit.
Overall, I think it's a pretty good time to be alive
Maybe it's just I have a pessimist view of life whereas everyone else has optimist.
So yeah, totally my fault. Sorry guys.
"No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars"
"Pessimist" is such a strong word. I prefer to think of us as "realists".
[editline]e[/editline]
I'm not even saying that relating to what's going on. I've been let down too many times to be an optimist.
I'd say I'm a mix of both, depending on the current situation.

How can you have a pessimist view of life when you've not even experienced life? You're 13 years old, ~5 of which you've basically been in the level of a pet dog. You don't make your own living, a house to sleep in is a granted for you, you are practically being force fed. Man, it's terrible being 13, right?

At 13, you have no idea of what pessimism is. You haven't had to deal with suicidal depression yet. You haven't had to deal with your life spiraling down the drain.

Don't get me wrong, everybody has different lives. Maybe you were beaten and abuse your whole life but man, it's only going to get worse from here until you can find yourself a good career pretty much.
You say that like that's an inevitable thing.
I'm not gonna even say anything because although I disagree with you I know deep down it's probably just because I am 13, but also very opinionated.

I say it because unless you're pretty much the one percent or clinically happy, it's almost is inevitable. And it's fine to be opinionated but realize those'll probably change when you get older, friend.

If you think that anyone gets through life without getting shit on, you're wrong. Of course we all have our good moments but on the flip side, the bad moments are an inevitability.
Oh I know they'll change, many have already.
Also I think that's a bit much to say suicidal depression is inevitable.

It's more common than you think.

I'd envy you more than you'd ever know if you managed to get through life without it.
I've been shit on before, but I just don't care.
I just ignore what people think, comments can get to me but not for long.
Yeah we all have shitty moments, but I don't think I PERSONALLY will ever go as far as to contemplate suicide.
Suicide doesn't end the pain, it only spreads it out to others.

Which is an amazing mindset to have, especially at your age where nowadays kids do it just for shits and giggles.
also I have felt depressed when my grandmother who I was very very close to and saw nearly everyday passed, but I never felt suicidal.
The only time I felt suicidal I was like, 9 and probably did it for attention, I didn't know shit then.

The shit you get on yourself at that age is drastically different from that of which you're going to get when you get older. And just to clarify, I'm not trying to crush your dreams of the future, buddy. What I'm saying is that you've barely had a glimpse at life, there is so much things you don't even know, and frankly, understand. You'll get this all once you grow older, once you experience this stuff yourself or see it happening to friends, family and other people around you. But as of now, your outlook in life is pretty amazing, and I'd recommend keeping it like that as long as you can. It'll only benefit you.
E: Man how much do I miss being 13, or a kid overall.
ah for fucks sake, some kid dropped milk in to the koi pond while i was away today. had to spend the last while cleaning all of this shit out trodding about in my wellies

I completely understand you and I know what you mean. Things will change.
And I'm not gonna say my outlook will always stay the same, but I'm really gonna try and keep it the same. Shit will come out, but that shit will(and has) motivated. The day a guy gave me a hard time was the same day I decided to get ready to tell the girl I like that I like her.
Ever since I ignored other's opinions and tried to take a lighter look on life, I've been alot more happy. So I'll try with all my heart and soul to not change that view on life and on the world.
Then don't read it

I envy your mindset.
..was the same day I decided to get ready to tell the girl I like that I like her.
I hope you told that to her then. There is nothing I regret more in life than not expressing my feelings to a certain person I really cared about.
I really feel like having a beer now.

Pessimists and realists are two different things.
