Guinea pigs make pretty cool noises.
This storm right now is putting on a better show than any 4th of July celebration.
[sarcasm] It's July the 4th. The day we Americans exercise the first and second amendment. God bless america! [/sarcasm]

Happy Valentines Day guys.

Maybe you haven't gotten past pre-school but the 4th is a celebration of our independence from the British, it has nothing to do (anymore at least) with two rights we exercise daily anyway. If anything, look at it as a day to have free reign to barbeque, blow shit up and for me, get paid time and a half because I have to work. [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline]
Happy Valentines Day guys.
I love you too.
So I'm cuddling my guinea pig right now away from her cage to see if it's some allergic reaction to her new bedding or the hay I gave her. I have no idea how long she has been making this noise because I didn't get home from watching fireworks until around midnight. Behavior wise she is fine, still active and affectionate. I'm scared that it's a URI, and that the others might catch it.
I know, I was making a sarcastic comment. July 4th was when the Declaration of Independance was signed. Going into highschool, I would already know that.
So you all know how I'm nuts ass crazy for Guardians of the Galaxy. Specifically the 2008-2010 run. Truth be told, I never finished those comics. I never owned the physical ones of the later issues because of how expensive they are. So a while back I picked up some digital copies and I've been dragging them out over the course of a year. I hate when good things end. Well I just finished the final issue. [t]http://i.imgur.com/guK1m2c.jpg[/t] Still the best.
So I decided to play a Stacker game at a bowling alley. [t]https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t1.0-9/10374069_10152339896368557_7285235921118912389_n.jpg[/t] Turned out pretty well. Excuse me for how I look, by the way. I haven't had a haircut in about a month.
Might I ask why you're nuts ass crazy for GotG? [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline]
So I decided to play a Stacker game at a bowling alley. i wonder for how long that "i have 3 ps3s" and "i have 4 ps4s" guy will go for

I read all of Star Wars: Legacy and was so pissed when it ended. I haven't read Legacy 2 yet though, so there's that. Not the same though. And also I haven't finished Superior Spider-Man because I don't want it to end.
I saw a video where a guy shows how they cheat, and still won two prizes.
Oh I don't care about the cheating. See, we don't have any control over the Stacker machines, everything goes through the company that does and so standard procedure is to tell the customer to call the number on the machine and have their prize shipped to them if the machine doesn't spit it out. Problem is, some people really aren't happy with that. So when i'm being accosted by a middle age soccer mom with a shitty red hair dye job and having her cuss me out while i'm wrapped up in extension cords and nail gun stuff trying to do the job my boss told me to despite her already talking to a manager about it, i've kind of grown to hate them a bit.
Might I ask why you're nuts ass crazy for GotG?
Because they're some of the best comics ever written, at least they were. I mean I could give the whole damn story of how I came to find and enjoy GotG, but I don't think I can say why. I could tell you the story of how, I've never told it before. Maybe I like it because it's what got me reading comics in the first place. It's also what showed me how badly comics can fuck up with the trash that is the current GotG series. The 2008-2010 series of GotG is such a forgotten series, even though it's one of the best written and most enjoyable series of comics I have ever read and probably will ever read. I feel like I have to sing it's praise as loud as possible because more people have to know. With the movie coming out in August, people will go read the current shit and probably never even know about amazing stuff that came before (and what the film is based on), and that makes me very sad.

I just haven't seen someone as attached to a specific team like you are, so it just got me curious.
I want this pin of Austria-Latvia relations [thumb]http://www.crossed-flag-pins.com/Friendship-Pins/Austria/Flag-Pins-Austria-Latvia.jpg[/thumb]
I just haven't seen someone as attached to a specific team like you are, so it just got me curious.
Because the characters are the team. Sure they all existed before the series. Rocket was fighting robot clowns on Half-World, Star-Lord was cruising the galaxy, Jack-Flag was doing stuff with Captain America (I think), Bug was hanging out in the Mircoverse, etc. GotG was what brought them together and made them shine. The vast majority of characters on the team are unknowns or have not shown up in print since the 80s. So, say, when you talk about Rocket Raccoon, for example, you don't talk about Rocket, you talk about the Guardians. They're as much a part of the character as the character is apart of the team.

It's one of the best fucking things I've ever read, and if I could give myself amnesia in order to rediscover it all over again, I'd do it.

See, I started a comic book club in high school and we mainly did presentations on what was topic at the time, so Xmen, Iron Man, Avengers, etc and we never got around to doing GotG. Most I read about it was researching the few Iron Man suits I didn't already know for when Iron Man 3 came out (took a field trip to see that shit, hell yeah) and saw that Stark and his space armor were in it and looking up stuff about Thanos and how Drax was basically created to hunt and kill Thanos. And that his original costume was goddamned fabulous.

2014 has wings and it can go the speed of light. That's what it feels like.
-don't want to quote too much and stretch the page-
Shit dude, I'll add you on steam. Lemmie throw some recommendations at you.
Shit dude, I'll add you on steam. Lemmie throw some recommendations at you.
Go for it, you're a rad guy to talk to anyway. If you can recommend me stuff online primarily that'd be good, the only two comic shops near by I don't know well enough to know what they have or don't. Like, one of them had a Civil War bundle for like $7 but it was missing two issues, so i'm a little wary.
You guys are making me want to pick up a new series. Or just finally stop being a baby and read Superior.
I'm surprised there isn't a comics megathread on here.
