You're getting way too sentimental over an internet forum. I've been around for a while and I don't really care about what happens to certain threads or the site's "essence", I stay in touch with the communities I'm involved in which is good enough for me.

Facepunch to me is a unique draw due to the fact it's such a relaxed forum (IE the NSFW threads, swearing, durgs discussion, etc), and taking away part of that is taking away part of what makes Facepunch, Facepunch.
Just like I've never visited Durgs Discussion, but if that ever got the axe I'd be pretty fucking pissed because it's a part of the site that reflects the relaxed environment.
