you're kidding right, because that's complete BS
[editline]banana[/editline]
I mean, it is good, and it is more serious and realistic in terms of story, I'll give it that, but all the other shit is just 3deep5u /v/ conspiracy shit that the community has made up to explain its short comings, none of that is true
let me guess you were one of those students that said that to their English Teacher?
No it's a container of nuclear waste- Yes it's a minibust.
What else would it be?
Well, I mean there are bust banks and minibusts and full size busts... just didn't know which it was,
People can interpret that way if they so choose, there's nothing wrong with that.
The thing is though, there's a big difference between saying "the clunky mechanics of this game clash very well with the tone of the game and make the story seem deeper" and "OMG IT'S NOT CLUNKY YEAGER DID IT ON PURPOSE AS A PARODY!"
Don't get me wrong, I kinda find myself agreeing that if somebody doesn't like Spec Ops because the gameplay isn't very good then that's perfectly valid. Regardless of intent, unfun to play is unfun to play and some people just want a fun game to relax with than a serious deconstruction of a shooter that will leave you depressed for a week.
Kind of like how I wouldn't fault somebody for not wanting to sit through a movie like 2001 because they just a want a fun action movie.
What if we all just enjoyed our video games regardless of what someone else says
Dude u literally think the same thing as me but with a different game
but I said that I made all of that up just after
my point was that you can draw lines that aren't there if you look too hard.

There's not a difference, you're just adding a (dumb) personality to an interpretation you disagree with to try and prove your point without really justifying it. Sounds like you agree with the concept but don't agree with it in Spec Ops, which is fine, but whereas to me Spec Ops is a prime example of that very concept. No need to disregard it just because you personally don't agree.
Did you guys know that video games are a form of art and art can be interpreted in multiple ways and not one person sees the same thing?
Isn't that cool?
I find that fact very interesting.
but I said that I made all of that up just after

They are there if you see them and that is my point. I dont even know how many times I've defended Spring Breakers (best film of 2013 and one of my faves ever ive seen it 6 times so far) as a fantastic piece of cinema but lots of others look at it as terrible schlocky exploitation and like fine you can look at it that way if you want but to me it's a great piece of arthouse cinema and an amazing experience to watch (also i wont justify why i love Spring Breakers a lot cos im tired of it lol)
ok lets shift gears to my interpretation of 300 and 300: Rise of An Empire
300 came in the wake of 'The Surge', and showed a superior army defeating a much weaker army, and sees the defeated turned into Martyrs.
300: Rise of An Empire came in the wake of the US ending our major wars in the Middle East, at what essentially are losses. 300:RoaE features a large power being defeated by a much weaker foe.
Essentially Persia=USA, Greek City States=Various Middle Eastern Factions we had been fighting.
That's the simple version of my interpretations of the two. Trust me I have a very detailed version of this, much of which is extremely time consuming.

but there is a difference between an interpretation and saying that the dev "did it on purpose" which was my entire point from the beginning
and also, don't go get mad, this is just a friendly conversation here, I'm not saying you can't like the game or anything, and I personally like the game myself
just, going off of what Skyward originally said, I too find the explanation for the clunky mechanics to be convenient, and I disagree with it
I'm also not even saying that the interpretation that the clunky mechanics clash well with the game is wrong, I somewhat agree with it, all I'm saying is that there's no hard evidence of it being on purpose to "parody" other shooter, as people like to say

I feel like we should probably stop using the thread for this conversation though, so we can just drop it since it's not that important anyway, or we could talk more through steam or PMs or something if you want :v:

Use it as a spy.
The enemy will never suspect that a raccoon can be intelligent enough to communicate with humans about military strategy.

Mass Debate doesn't seem like a good spot to spout my ideas about how 300 and the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars are connected.

Wasn't there a thread here that was specifically devoted to deep thoughts? I think it was called, "Mindfucks and Morbid Thoughts"
Yeah but the posts in there are more like "Man I wonder what it would feel like to have my throat slit" than an analysis of 300 and why it lines up with the US so well :v:
I drawded a Storm Trooper helmet (can't even body because suck at drawing people) while we were arguing.

I looked it up.
They're German soldiers and officers would import animals to keep as companions because why the fuck not.
That sounds great. you get to dress spiffy, wear a fancy hat, yell at people and tell them what to do, have a raccoon buddy.

I wonder how those soldiers felt about the holes in the walls and the food mysteriously disappearing.
