Back from night postings. It was kind of boring actually, the bigwig patient was nice to be around though. Not hoity-toity about me being one of the most junior doctors who'd seen to his needs.
Everyone who gave me parenting advice prior to my son's birth always had one piece of advice in common to give: prepare to be tired [I]all the time[/I]. Yet it hasn't been up until the last few weeks (he's almost 2 years old) that I've been tired a lot. Like before there was only the stress of keeping him fed and safe, (which was still stressful AF at first, don't get me wrong) but now there's the added stress of making sure he's developing correctly, physically, mentally, emotionally, and I feel like [I]that's[/I] what's taking it's toll. I'm constantly afraid that I'm just fucking him over for his future, like somehow if he's only learning the names of 10 objects a day instead of 11, that translates to him being severely behind on his learning later in life and being unable to graduate high school or get a good job or be successful, all because I didn't spend enough time with him or something.
Don't be too oddly specific on milestone timings unless they're really delayed. I wouldn't worry so much.

I'm sure I'm blowing it out of proportion, but if I get to comfortable in thinking that all the time, what's to stop me from being so lax that I totally botch raising him, just out of lax-adaptation or something, knowwhatimean?

There's one popular idiom that is often glazed past or ignored: it takes a village to raise a child. The more exposure your kid gets to different kinds of people whom you trust, who can teach them new things, the better.

That's very true, I've noticed when he spends time with my wife's parents, he picks up some things faster than he would with me/my wife, and vice-versa. And it is glazed over way too often.

tested and priced some cosmetic loadouts for tf2 and surprisingly, everything I want save for a couple of items is actually reasonably priced at an average of 1-2 ref
