too much bad shit happens in the world for me to feel much about robin williams dying
anyone can say that adam. The thing is, influential people who've impacted your life and who've shaped whom you are today as a person, will make you feel like shit if they decided to off themselves. Especially if you suffer from depression yourself.
i just guess i can't relate because i've never been into celebrities, can't really say that any of them have had a noticeable impact on my life. i may be able to relate to some of them in certain aspects of their lives but that's generally the extent of it and it is very limited depression is a bad thing, i have suffered from it in the past and now i spend a lot of my time helping others through it at their lowest points. it is tragic that he has decided to commit suicide but so do many other influential and good people

I could give 2 shits about celebrities. I don't care about celebrities. I didn't look at him as one either. Robin Williams was one, but he never was "celebrity" to me. He was a father figure in my eyes. He made me feel like people gave a shit. He made me fucking happy, sad, he made me think about things id probably never think about as a child. Im sorry that you've suffered some sort of depression, but true depression never just "goes away". It lingers like a mold and spreads. Its a silent killer that grows for years until it literally kills you. I don't want to play a "whose mental health is worse" game, but I've been dealing with depression since i was 12 and though there are days where i can get through and be genuinely happy, Im still a fucking mess underneath. [sp]im still wanting to off myself- but i know that a lot of people would be hurt if i did that. [/sp] I know other people end it as well, but Robin meant something to me. Im not talking about other people. Stop trying to generalize Robins death with other people.

Hezzy, don't be a dick. A well loved celebrity dying is no better or worse than the death of someone else. Everyone that has ever died has influenced others in good ways, and Robin Williams happens to be one of those people. For many of us, we grew up watching either his stand-up performances, or any one of his films, or even Mork and Mindy. To talk down his death because you simply aren't "big on celebrities" just makes it seem like his death is less valid or even his life was worth less than anyone else's. Regardless of a person's fame/reputation/influence on others, a death is a death, and we all are worth something to someone.
true depression
No. Depression takes many forms. Do not put your depression or anyone else's over someone else's no matter how 'small' you think it is. I've gone through some bad shit [sp]I just recently decided against a plan to commit suicide[/sp], he's gone through some bad shit, and you've gone through some bad shit. Every problem someone has feels as big as a problem a different person has. It's all depression and it's all the same.

i'ma just go watch Jumanji and feel good yall

Let's not let this go any further or take a harsh turn, can we all just agree that depression is awful and that Robin William's death was a tragedy? (As much as anyone else's, really, don't get this twisted.) [editline]12th August 2014[/editline]
the gif was in response to hookervomit saying "true depression" i'm not talking down his death at all just merely expressing my opinion on it (the whole point of this thread) and the fact that it doesn't affect me. it wasn't intending to belittle him at all if you don't like what i write just put me on your ignore list, you can do that now that i'm not a mod
But you were, even though you were just "expressing your opinion" and didn't mean it that way. He was worth as much as anyone else was. I'm not going to put you on my ignore list, because I like you Hezzy. I won't let this one thing warp my view of you into something terrible. HV was wrong for trying to make one kind of depression seem worse than all others (but wouldn't we all do that, as it's something truly personal?), and you were wrong for diminishing a person's worth compared to others. Either way, let's all just kiss and make up. We can't be mad at each other forever, that would be pointless.
Ugh, why can't we all agree that it's fucking sad he's dead and stop arguing about BS.
I think I wanna practice drawing. I wanna draw a lizardman, lets see what other people have drawn so I can get an idea of how I should draw it. Today, some huge ass tick dropped from my cat, when I was petting it. I fucking hate ticks, but I knew exactly what to do. Went into our garden and dug up a small fireant-hill. Once the ground was covered in tiny, pissed, orange robots, I dropped the tick into the horde and watched them do their work. It was all like this "Take him to detroit" stuff, heh.

Hell, you might even find that your own work is better. Just have a go at it and practice, the more you practice on your skills the better they improve. simple as.

You don't have to be great to start but you have to start to be great

This whole Robin Williams thing is really getting at me... that was like my biggest hero growing up, and still has been... and to think that it may have been depression... This is the first time I've actually cried (with actual tears coming out) in around a year.
Burnt my finger, rather annoying having to hold one of them cold compresses to it lest i get a lot of pain.
Fingers are pretty sensitive, especially the tips, because of there being plenty of corpuscles to detect soft and fine touch as well as a lot of free nerve endings (which are responsible for conduction of pain). Hence why you need a lot of pain relief for burned fingers as such.

I remember back when we had a small infestation of mice (probably about 8 or so, I'm surprised they didn't turn into hundreds honestly) I would feed the trapped mice to the neighborhood cats.

I am actually afraid of most parasitic lifeforms :( Not counting gnats, they just deserve all the rage on this planet.
