he's an asshole, that's the problem. Some guys have more active sex drives and instead of just jacking off once in a while they expect women to climb on their dick whenever they get a boner. Also, I don't really know what your living situation is, but I'm sure if you told your parents/homeowners you live with that you have a friend that needs out of a bad relationship/living situation that they would be happy to help out. If she's employed then she should possibly get in a financial position to get her own place.

she has a job but it isn't a high paying job to where she can have enough money by the end of the month to move out. she also doesn't drive because the guy was super controlling in the beginning of their relationship. When they first started dating, he told her he didn't want her living with her sister because he didn't trust her. she ended up sleeping in his car for 2 months trying to find a job.

I can't fucking stand people that think sex should be some form of reward.TBH it's hard to decode his problem but you mention his "devout christian" mum which sets alarm bells ringing TBH, devout Christians are some of the worst people to walk this earth because they constantly try to justify their shitty behavoir through their religion and fuck you for pointing it out because they go to church more than you.
