Could anyone fill me in what the deal with Ferguson is?
I've been having horrific connection problems for weeks but I think I fixed them by moving the router a foot and a half.

In a nutshell: stupid kid thought it would be a good idea to rob a store. He got shot by the police. People blew it up into 'innocent black kid slaughtered by policemen after surrendering.' This led to protests and riots, where the police became heavy-handed on the protestors, they also threatened and beat up journalists who were recording said atrocities on camera, and confiscated their equipment. It only went downhill from there.

Brown was only a suspect in the robbery, the police had stopped him for jaywalking. Brown assaulted the police officer inside the police car. Brown apparently surrendered, ended up getting shot 6 times and died 35 feet away from the police car. At least 1 shot was fired from within the police car, and Brown was unarmed.

It's a start, as for fixing the relationship I don't know I mean sure if she ends it short term it'll be rough since it's 4 1/2 years investment down the drain but long term it might be the best thing she could do for herself. She needs to get him to commit, as in fully computer to some form of counselling if she really wants to fix it, maybe her moving out would shake him up a little but as I said I really do think this lad is beyond saving from what I've read.

I mean he DID rob a store minutes before and may have been under the effects/affects of drugs

Neither of these things are proven and I don't think anyone believes he was high. He wasn't even pulled over for robbing the store.

as has been said before, it doesn't matter if the cop knew or not, all that matters is, if the kid did it, and was approached by cops, he'd be likely to struggle or fight back

That doesn't disprove the fact that the cop might've been racist or that systemic racist is prevalent there, that would only explain for why Brown fought back.

Since it's an ongoing investigation, you shouldn't be looking to justify or defend [I]either[/I] side, and instead be seeking understanding as to why what happened happened.

I'd not nearly as simple as that, honestly I don't really trust any of the witness accounts after one woman claimed he was unlawfully killed when at the time she was in the shower so how can she know? Then there's the other witness accounts which all don't add up so someone's lying obv. Not all the protesters are being peaceful either some are throwing molotovs and the like which is a good way to catch a rubber bullet. Then there's the fact that people are looting their own fucking community. Peacefully protest is there but it's not as scandalous as a community tearing itself apart so of course the media only devotes a small portion of coverage to it.
Ferguson is far from a simple black and white racism issue like Tumblr is trying to promote, sure the Police could've issued the officers name earlier and yes some of their conduct hasn't been great namely the no-fly zone but no-one else has died so that has to count for something.

I'm aware, I was just making it quick. Been following it pretty closely and I'm aware it's quite a complex issue that's got problems both ends (mostly on the cop side if you ask me. They've been all round very unprofessional in a lot of ways)
