My dog is getting to that point as well. His hind legs are going. He's having trouble getting up off the floor and climbing the steps from outside. This is in addition to the horrible inner ear problems he's had. He is constantly shaking his head and bumping into stuff, and it doesn't help that he's half blind.
It's gonna be hard to lose him, but, it's inevitable.

my older dog is pretty much in exactly that condition
he's gonna be 15 years old this december, which is pretty dang long for a bigger dog
