There we go. Now I have my card running at 1100 core / 1500 memory after adjusting a few things with VBE7. I left the voltages alone and bumped the fan speed up a little. Before I couldn't get it to run stable above 1050/1450, because the stock TDP/power limit settings were way too conservative.
Now it's running happily at those clocks and averaging in between 62 and 70C while loaded, and VRM temps are well below 80C.
note to self: don't use tags to search through tumblr unless looking for porn

TBH it honestly depends on the game. In some cases it may just net me a higher lowest-FPS (which is good of course). I'm mostly doing it because I like playing around with my computer hardware, I've always done that stuff.

DXHR and the modern BF games just barely get 60fps constant but when i'm oc'd it's no worries

Yeah it all depends on what you're doing. My 7950 still handles pretty much whatever I throw at it, but I like overclocking things and I've never had any issues (because I don't exceed recommended voltages and I keep temps within spec).
I haven't shaved or cut my hair in a number of weeks and it's to the point where my hair is just plain uncomfortably thick and hot, and my mustache is now long enough that I can [I]feel[/I] it when I drink something so I think it's time it all goes
early models of the 6950 were physically identical to to the 6970 with the only difference between the two being the bio and it turns out you can flash those early 6950 models with the bios from a 6970 and have yourself a 6970
