I always have one random during games that I roll with for a match.
But there's always that one guy who just constantly chases you down and shoots only you for the entire time without letting up and it's annoying as fuck cause I'm like "Bitch I'm in first place my score is plummeting get off my dick".

Why does anyone get invested in Cosmic Horror stories? They won't have any answers, they'll never have any answers, their whole point is not to have any answers. It's just a bunch of icky shit happening to some poor bugger who's trying to make sense of things because they don't know they're in a Cosmic Horror story. That and you have to take the storyteller's word for it that the thing is really onimous and spooky and maddening and shit because it's not like you can put things that are apparantly incomprehensable into a comprehensable form otherwise it wouldn't be incomprehensable and then you'd have to put some effort into being scary. In the end all that you've got is the audience wondering "is the protagonist going to live/be sane by the end" and the answer is almost always "probably not, that's all folks". Irks me quite a bit, the popularity of Cosmic Horror.

FTL seriously needs an endless mode, because sometimes I just don't want to fight the rebel flagship because I [i]know[/i] I'm either underprepared or not prepared at all by the time I get to the final sector. Some people I think like contemplating the idea behind it. Like, they love the feeling of being afraid of something that they will never understand or really get an explanation for. It's one thing to be afraid of a serial killer or something, but being afraid of something that's so gargantuan and scary you have no hope of stopping it? Really different feeling.
Not defending it necessarily, but that's the appeal behind it
