I've come to the conclusion that for a nation to be a super power, it has to have the most powerful military on Earth. Diplomacy is the preferred course of action, but it only works if the other nation is willing to be compliant with your policy. That's not guaranteed, so ultimately you will need a stick to force the other nation. However, there is a caveat. For you nation to be considered a super power, it must also have an economy stable enough to support that military. Stable as in being able to afford the best military without being detrimental to the civilian sector. I think history proves me right. The Russians use to have a formidable military and to an extant, they still do. But they didn't have sturdy economic foundations to support their military. China has a credible economy, but their conventional forces just aren't cutting edge enough. They'd probably end up using nukes. But America is a different case. We've made economic mistakes, but I think or economy is more resilient and we dump around five hundred billion dollars into maintaining most full spectrum dominating force ever.

I wish I had money.
