I thought up a drinking game today.
- 2-4 players (thinking it over, I'd recommend doing this with something that has a low alcohol content)
- Everyone sits in a circle
- Going clockwise, one at a time, each person chooses a topic (something strange, awkward, or anything really)
- The person whose turn comes up chooses a topic (let's say, something weird, like the weirdest person/thing they found themselves attracted to)
- Going clockwise, each person says who/what they were attracted to (basically trying to outdo each other)
- Once they all decide who had the weirdest attraction (or their choice outdoes everyone else's), they rate it on a scale of 1-3 (shots, that is. The most agreed upon rating is how many shots the winner/loser has to take.)
- The winner/loser drinks the shots
I'm still trying to figure it out so it's fun and the players involved don't die of alcohol poisoning.

So I decided to do my research paper on the minority-report style gesture based interface from the movie minority report. I mean, in theory, the kinect exists and stuff, it should be possible for such an interface to exist, but that's not my question.
What I'm researching is, in what situation would an interface like that actually be useful? In what scenario would making full-body gestures be faster or somehow better than merely pushing a mouse a few inches across a desk?

TV I guess, could be easier and more intuitive than a remote.

I got to uni programming course, we got to tell our level of aptitude in the programming subject and then we would be put in groups corresponding to our level of comprehension. I've been programming for 4 years and I do a lot of programming from home. It's a great interest of me. Yet when I got here, we're just going over the most basic stuff like how to work with if statements and that sorta stuff. When I put myself as "advanced" I expected it to start off a little less simplistic.
I don't really believe in these sort of things, but everyone in my family keeps talking about this white butterfly, and how it's my dead dad's way of sending love to those that mattered most to him from wherever he may be.
But I've just started thinking about it, and I've seen many white butterflies since he passed away.
Kinda makes me wonder, even though I know better in the end.
I'm waiting for it to get warmer so I can release an injured mouse I found outside my house last night. I couldn't just let it freeze to death outside, so I brought it in a little box with a bunch of newspaper as insulation and an old towel for it to crawl inside. If it's still alive when I check on it in a couple hours, I will give it breakfast and send it on its way.
mmm today off from college, nice little lie in.
best pop down to Co-op and get some lunch tho.
