As much as I love the city, there's tons of shit you have to put up with. A hellish commute, everything is expensive, [i]lots[/i] of crazy people (depends on your borough/district/whatever you're in) and crime galore. But, it has its charms.
I grew up in Buffalo where I have had cherrybombs with nails welded to them thrown at me, I lived in Arizona where my family almost had our boat stolen while fishing at Lake Patagonia(10 miles from the border), and I now live in North Dakota next to a meth cartel.
Shit doesn't change no matter where you go, you just wise up a little bit regarding it.

Nah, I prefer my town to any city. It's an old suburban / rural town (nice mix of both) and we have urban areas close enough. Or you can head up north and get away from everything and do some awesome hiking.
