My english teacher doesn't want our essay to be seven extra pages with tons of bullshit in it. Yet she's making us quote two articles and relate them to somewhat recent stories, so the article quotations come out awkward and forced.
Not sure if it's just me but forced quotations come off as worse than a few extra paragraphs of BS.
Is it just me or does Valve have a really annoying mindset of "Why do X when you can have the community do X for you?"

Most bethesda games suffer from this, the most recent Sim City had this problem as well
idk how steam calculated my que but with the exception of 3 games, everything it recommended was stupid bullshit i would never play. and of those 3 games that were interesting, i have already played 2 of them.

Yeah, a lot of stuff they lack is annoying but most of it is really easy to understand why they'd miss it.

Valve steam support is abysmal, I was trying to get a fallout 3 GOTY key since I had a physical copy.
Bethesda: responds quickly and in a concise manner, is polite and says they can't do much, and suggests I go to valve about this
Valve: question is closed two times before it's even answered, third time they finally answer it and say they can't and or won't

Do we know how relevant MGS4 will be to TPP? I've been meaning to get into the series and I can play MGS1, 2, and 3, but I don't have a PS3 so I can't play 4.

MGS 4 will likely have no direct effect on MGSV:TPP. The events retconned in MGS4 aren't relevant to this game, except possibly who CIPHER is. You should probably play MGS3 and if you have a PSP, pick up Peace Walker. Once ou get your hands on a PS4, go and grab Ground Zeroes as well.

You need to play MGS3 for sure, as it has the largest backstory and motivations for Big Boss' character. Also, it's an amazing game for the Playstation 2. Just try to pick up Subsistence or the HD rerelease.

dont get Peace Walker on PSP if you have a 360. Buy the HD collection, it has 2, 3, Peace Walker and the original Metal Gear games. You'll be able to pick it up cheap.
I really doubt 4 will have any impact on TPP whatsoever given that it's based 30 years in the future and dealing with different stuff. MGS1 and kinda 2 tied up the end of Big Boss' story (mostly), and 3 and Peace Walker are prequels. 4 isn't so much to do with it. It's the fallout of Big Boss' legacy I suppose but mostly what was left in his wake rather than BB himself
maaan that gtx 970 is really tempting for the price.

please dont play the MGS games in chronological order though I don't get why so many people think that's the best way to do it (not saying u do but i've see a lot of people ask). They might jump around the timeline but they're meant to be played in release order and the story of each game is built around what you've learnt in the previous ones. Jumping into 3 without playing 1 or 2 is missing 50% of the game.

I've been looking for a list that my friend who's heavily into the series on probably the best order to play to understand the game...

But I didn't reccomend to play them in order, I just reinforced a point that MGS4 is based a considerable amount of time before the events of the game

That is literally the order they're intended to be played I don't get why MGS has this big confusion over what's the best way to play the games. It should be done as they were released as it's how they were intended to be played.
