Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is the best game on the Wii U by far.
Be warned though, it's hard as balls.

Mario 3D World, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, NS Mario Bros / Luigi U, DKC: Tropical Freeze. Child of Light is actually pretty nice on the Wii-U too. Check out the Virtual Console offerings as well.
Oh and Wind Waker HD is also worth it IMO. Even if you've already played through on GC it's a fantastic update. Pikmin 3 is lots of fun too.

I was thinking about 3U but 4U is pretty close now and I've already got it on the 3DS. The only reason I'd need to buy that is for a month or two of online before the game dies.
I can't into Mario Kart. Too frustrating.
Will definitely check out Wonderful101 and DKC. Is Pikmin 3 any good? I like Pikmin.

Yes. Although for me it was awkward with the gamepad, because I'm a lefty. Despite using my right hand for mouse controls and all that, I really prefer using a stylus with my left. And I use a full size pen stylus so it feels awkward in my right hand.

Oh and if you don't have Shovel Knight on Steam, the Wii-U's version is an excellent alternative. It looks and plays great on the gamepad.
