I have yet to use a malfunctioning driver on any of the 3 AMD cards I have used (HD 3270, HD 6770, HD 7870), even on the Beta Drivers.
I've had a single issue with AMD drivers on my 7950, which is an issue very specific to me using flash in firefox

I'm really happy about this.
alien isolation is surprisingly not very scary. it feels tense at times, but I don't really feel much fear like I did when playing through Penumbra and Amnesia my first time for example. fear of the unknown is pretty powerful I suppose, too bad that won't apply here

forget I said anything, just had an encounter with the alien and my heart is no longer beating
Right, turned off ratings. Couldn't even give a shit anymore about what I'm rated if all I'm going to see is that fucking box because it just had to be a rating, didn't it.
shame you let it get to you that much
shame you let it get to you that much
When you accumulate over 90 combined boxes in two days of course it gets to my head. And I didn't even say anything racist or -phobic.
again, shame you let virtual ratings on a website get to you. lighten up dude, the more you complain about getting boxes, the more you're gonna get.
[editline]10th October 2014[/editline]
but i mean you do you, if turning ratings off makes you feel better, more power to you
keyboard my instrument, out of tune but typin anyway........damn..............
At least Nvidia's drivers function.
My last 3 cards have been from ATI/AMD. I've owned a 4870/5870/7950 and I've had an extremely positive experience. One beta release caused a BSOD for me, which was a known issue that was patched a few days after. That was with my 4870.
Prior to that I had owned 4 different NVIDIA cards, and honestly I had more trouble with those. I can't even remember how many of those 'nvlddmkm' errors popped up. But that hasn't stopped me from looking into purchasing a GTX 970 for my next card. I won't deny that NVIDIA possesses a more talented driver team, but AMD's offerings have improved a ton over the past few years.

The one area where AMD is sorely lacking at the moment would be with Linux related support. That's where I'd avoid them almost entirely until they beef that up.

I wish I could get ahold of a peach dress.
Swap that lame ass hoopskirt out for some petticoats and, bam, best dress.

Catalyst Mobility 14.x drivers have been fucked so badly since release that AMD had to drop all driver support for Windows 8 because they were unable to (read: didn't try hard enough to) fix the problem even though it was working fine on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 the whole time.
Give me one good reason why AMD isn't the Ubisoft of the GPU market.
Because Value(amazingly some how)
I'd rather shell out an extra $100 for the equivalent Nvidia card because that extra $100 guarantees frequent and stable driver releases, less power consumption, and less heat generation.
less power consumption, and less heat generation.
At this point in time if you pick from their most recent offerings, yes. Keep in mind that both companies are always swapping places with who's got the most efficient GPU in terms of power consumption/heat generation.

They do tend to offer some great performance for the price. Back when I was looking at upgrading from my 5870 I was checking out the GTX 670 or 680. Both of those were a hell of a lot more expensive than the 7900 series cards (at that time). So I opted for the 7950 which cost me ~$135 out of pocket after selling off my 5870. Really that's pretty damn good for something that can easily be overclocked to 7970 levels or beyond.
Honestly it still handles pretty much everything at 1080p, but the GTX 970 is too tempting for the price. So that's why I think it's a good for me to swap the 7950 out.
[editline]10th October 2014[/editline]
Unfortunately it's just a waiting game right now, since the new 900 series cards are so popular. They appear in stock on Newegg for about 2 minutes every so often. I'm waiting for the Asus Strix card.
tbh p sure my nvidia card exploded and my amd hasnt

That new Bob the Builder is legitimately horrifying.
They changed the dress code at my work. We're allowed to grow beards now. I'm gonna grow a beard. That was probably the one complaint I had about that job.
I just searched up why DSP gaming is bad, since i knew nothing about him. I watched five second of a video from him. and now I want to kill myself.
Keep your razorblades away from me

8.1 is a free upgrade, is it not? And objectively better than Windows 8 (Which is why it's an upgrade, also free)
I can't fucking believe this is the first time I bake cookies.
And it is so simple. Mix bananas with oatmeal, and that is your base. Add whatever you like after. I added cinnamon and chocolate chips. Ready in ~13 mins.
And this whole time I've always had bananas and oatmeal in my house, but never combined the two.
