You know, I always thought Fresh Prince of Bel Air was spelt "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" and thought it was about a guy moving into the Middle East.
yea, its stuck in mine too Gives a good message at least.
"men will only like you if you have enough meat on your bones" mmmmmmm nah, not a very good message tbh
To show that they didn't look hard enough 2 seconds on google
Sometimes I wish LMGTFY wasn't bannable.

Well that fucking blows. I can't even play TF2 using fucking bots before it crashes without warning nor reason. Fucking hell, I spent all that time making sure everything worked right and all goes down the shitter.
They see your IP on every post [editline]14th October 2014[/editline] Also, SH takes the bait, Again
The guy's a gimmick account, it's a permabanned user who for some reason dislikes Orkel.

imagine caring about facepunch enough to re-register through a proxy with the specific intent of slandering the mod that banned you some more
"i'm not skinny but it's ok because i can still get men to fuck me"
The thing about All About That Bass is that Trainor isn't fat, she's just using the fatcceptance movement to churn out an easy cash cow tune and make a few quid out of making average sized women feel good whilst simultaneously throwing skinnier women under the bus.
yea, its stuck in mine too Gives a good message at least.
I dunno, I guess it does, but at the same time it just seems very manipulative to me. Like she's just riding the wave on the whole anti-fat-shaming thing. Especially because she's not even fat. And while being able to accept yourself is great, that doesn't mean being big is healthy (and this is coming from an overweight man). You need to accept what you are, embrace the good, and change the bad, but it seems to me that the song's message is just "Fuck it, everything about you is perfect". That all said, I do think the song is actually kinda catchy. [sp]And damn she's pretty.[/sp]

[sp]And damn she's pretty.[/sp]
I think it's an entirely detrimental song that paints bigger women as an object to be desired and chased and completely ignores that hey, they're people too. It also stigmatizes skinniness to an extent, comparing "skinny bitches" to "stick figure, silicone barbie doll"-esque characters. It's good that there's in-roads to a mainstream acceptance of plus sized women but All About That Bass is a poor example of it and I hate how people have taken to it as a sort of fatcceptance anthem.
Fuuuuck fuuuuck I just searched what goatse is... :suicide: [editline]13th October 2014[/editline] I feel like puking
the song's pretty hypocritical, attempting to promote the idea that all body types are beautiful, which is fine and good, but to do it there's some skinny shaming as well as as you said it kind of objectifies bigger/fat women making them the thing to chase after instead. Nicki Minaj gets away with saying "fuck skinny bitches" in Anaconda because it's tongue in cheek and she's criticising the male gaze instead of trying to draw it to her (she's not criticising skinny women, she's criticising men)- I mean, the video's sexual, but that's because she knows she's hot as hell. She's sexy and knows it and is flaunting it for herself cos she feels good about it. The song/video is her showing that she's the one in charge of herself, she doesn't give a shit about what men think of her, it's blatantly obvious that the entire point is that she's not just a good ass. She's saying, "yea I have a great ass, but I'm also a person and not your sex object. I'm the one in charge." The idea of making the debate still revolve around the male gaze is really backwards because the male gaze is one of the big reasons people hate on fat people, women especially. It doesn't fall under what is conventionally in our society considered sexy (which she does quickly address) so people demonise it. The idea should be "fuck what men think, if you think you're hot you're hot, no matter your size" but it's not that. It's just the same thing as what we're used to seeing only about fat girls instead of skinny ones.

Totally. Anaconda is feminist (Nicki is a great feminist icon not that mainstream media goes out of its way to tell you that lmao) whereas All About That Bass is continuing to objectify women, only this time it's a different group.

and people go on to call it good and empowering truly classic
That's literally down to a case of black and white #ButThatsNoneOfMyBusiness
I don't get why fat shaming isn't acceptable, but smoking shaming is. I'm not saying you should make fun of overweight people and stuff, but there's a point where your friends and family should be able to tell someone they are living an unhealthy lifestyle and they're worried.
I forgot to put sugar in my tea and I actually don't regret it

You have to take into account biological processes and metabolisms. Unless someone chooses to live like a slob of course. Smoking is seen a choice and detrimental for other people's health as well as your own. That's why smoking is more stigmatised than people with a little bit of extra fat.
plus it still kinda makes you a bit of an asshole to constantly rag on someone to stop smoking if they dont want to anyway. Drugs or alcohol abuse I get since that affects your life outside of the health negatives smoking has, since they affect your brain and performance but like smoking is just smoking. Undeniably bad for you but it's not gonna affect you beyond health and whatever cash you spend on cigs.
I forgot to put sugar in my tea and I actually don't regret it
I kind of prefer to drink green tea with no sugar, for some reason I have no taste for black without at least a little.

I have a ton of friends who I really for banning smoking and seem to believe second hand smoke outside a club is gonna kill people and think there's no such thing as being a responsible smoker. I don't get it.
