This is called context-dependent memory. What you're experiencing is an environmental reinstatement effect. So in one environment (which can mean where you're at or what you're looking at, etc.) you think to do something, but then once you change environments, it's common to forget what the hell you were doing. Usually when you revisit that same environment, you will remember what it was you were doing.
I can't tell you how many times I've needed to go upstairs for something only to instinctively walk to my bedroom then think "wtf why am I here", then once I walk back downstairs I remember what I needed. It sounds like you were probably looking at a certain webpage or something while you were thinking of something, then you changed pages and forgot what it was. I bet if you could find what you were looking at before you would remember. Though it's probably way late for that.
