If it does go that way, we'll all end up plugged into pods and spend our lives in virtual dream worlds while the machines harvest our body heat and bioelectricity for energy after we blotted out the sun in a war with them hundreds of years ago.
Speaking of robots, I've had this idea for a story jumping around in my head for the last few days.
It's set in a futuristic utopia, but with heavy medieval themes. Think Elder Scrolls mixed with various sci-fi tropes. There's still a matriarchy, and things like magic and knights exist, but those key elements have survived the worlds technological advancement and now exist along side robots, cars, and planes. There could be massive cities surrounded by utopian castle walls, with a futuristic palace inside. There could be witches browsing street markets buying alchemy ingredients from robotic vendors.
This little inkling of an idea has pretty much been the center of my attention for a while, and the more I think, the more I want to write.
