There are some situations where you sort of have to laugh to prevent going insane like when gay men are called misogynists for not liking woman sexually.

TBH Tumblr still has some problems though with social issues and in general. TBH I still maintain that "Check your privilege" is one of the most useless phrases in the English language right now.
the phrase is maybe silly but the concept is accurate and pretty necessary before people go on to talk about inequality imo. Knowing your place is important.

Tumblr exemplifies one of the main issues I feel online discourse has, it's too binary and antagonistic.
There's always an us vs them kind of feeling when you see discussions online and that's the worst cause it doesn't promote genuine, constructive discussion at all, it just encourages vitriolic shitflinging.
Like when you see someone make an offensive post on tumblr, you rarely see someone trying to explain to them why their post is offensive, rather you see just endless amounts of people shouting them down in a very witchunty manner (at its worst, people even get doxxed which is way too fucking far).

that's not to say all of tumblr is bad, there are certainly funny posts and nice things that get shared but in my personal experience that is always overshadowed by the dumb shit and it sours the experience every time I go on there.
