Not really, the people in that thread had their rules, but there was simply too much of it to be controlled properly, so it had to be shut down for those reasons. Also it's a given that the WTYO thread and threads like it had to be shut down because the forum in general shouldn't get into trouble in case it gets used for actual kiddy diddlers to share their messed up shit with others.
What I didn't like about it was that people were getting vocal about it on both sides and both sides should be ashamed of their shitty behavior. However, those who were in favor of such threads going are more to blame for acting like dicks to the more reasonable users of the thread and calling them names for no reason, repeating 'dogfucker, dogfucker' like some kind of mantra, or my personal favorite, 'pedophile dogfucker' just to try and take the piss from the thread regulars.
I've never been against a bit of ribbing, but if it goes past a certain extent, whichever side being in the right or wrong, it's dumb shitposting plain and simple for the sake of shitposting, and it was clear that the people who did get punished for shitposting still got the equivalent of a slap on the wrist mostly except for one or two of them.

Way to put words into my mouth, I said that the people taking the piss were the ones going too far with it because once the argument was done, they kept reviving it for the sake of starting shit. The other side should have probably sucked it up instead of reviving the argument by responding to baited statements, but there was still no reason to start shit for the sake of starting shit.
I'm done, I'm clearly aware that the consensus was that none of that sort of thing should have stayed on FP, but people should have had the good sense to not take the piss out of it.
